Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after a man and woman were found dead in the Hunter Valley.
Hunter Valley police officers made the grim discovery after attending to a welfare check in the Doyles Creek area around 4pm on Thursday.
The remains of a 48-year old man and 49-year old woman were discovered inside the home on Doyle Creek road.
Officers are completing a forensic investigation at the scene in an effort to find out what happened.
A report is being prepared for the coroner and the investigation will continue.
