Alleged Getaway Driver Arrested Over April Robbery

BY MADELAINE MCNEILL

Police have made a second arrest over an armed robbery at Waratah five months ago.

A 32-year-old man remains before the courts over the incident on April 18, which saw patrons at the Royal Inn on Station Street allegedly threatened with a firearm before the man fled with cash.

Strike Force Yard detectives on Tuesday arrested a woman at Silverwater Correctional Facility, where she was being held on an unrelated charge.

The 32-year-old is accused of being the man's getaway driver and has been charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.

The woman was refused bail to face court on Wednesday.
