Hunter Police Smash Drug Ring

BY IAN CROUCH

Hunter Police have smashed a major drug supply ring which manufactured its own ecstasy and blue scissor pills, with four people arrested over the past week.

Two men were arrested outside a Raymond Terrace business yesterday.

The Herald reports they were allegedly caught red handed transacting a drug deal of 100 grams of ecstasy capsules for $8,800.

Police from Strike Force Codas later discovered cannabis, MDMA, pills and cash at a nearby house.

It comes after more than a thousand ecstasy pills and 41 cannabis plants were found at a home in Teralba Road, Broadmeadow last week.

A 44-year-old man is due to face Newcastle Local Court on April 18 over that drug haul.

Police say further investigations led to yesterday's arrests - the two men aged 23 and 25 have been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today.
