Former Newcastle Anglican Bishop To Front Royal Commission

BY IAN CROUCH

The Royal Commission into child sex abuse will today hear from the first of eight former Newcastle Anglican bishops.

Alfred Holland will be questioned about how paedophile priests and church workers operated unchecked while he was in charge of the Diocese from 1978 to 1992.

He'll be grilled about what he knew about the activities of priest Peter Rushton and youth worker James Brown who were abusing children at St Alban's Boys Home at Aberdare.
