Fishing Point man clocked doing 60kph over on Rathmines road

A Fishing Point man has had his license suspended, after being busted doing more than 60kph over the speed limit on a Rathmines road.

Highway patrol officers patrolling Dorrington Road spotted the Subaru Impreza around 6:50am on Saturday morning, finding the vehicle doing 122kph in the signposted 60kph zone.

The 23-year-old told police he was "running late for work".

The man faces a $2,547 fine, as well as 12 demerit points due to the double demerit long weekend.

His license has been suspended for six months.
