Hunter Renewable Energy Zone To Be Fast-Tracked

 BY IAN CROUCH

The Hunter Renewable Energy Zone is to be fast-tracked by the state government.

Zones across NSW are being established as modern day power stations to replace coal-fired generators.

The government has committed $1.2 billion into the zones over the next 10 years to fast-track critical energy infrastructure through the Transmission Acceleration Facility.

The Waratah Super Battery, which will be the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, could be built at Lake Munmorah and will be the first investment under the facility.
