It's believed a custody dispute could be at the centre of a pedestrian accident which claimed the life of a woman at Singleton last night.
Emergency services were called to Da;lton Avenue just after 6pm to find a 61-year-old woman had been struck by a Toyota Corolla - she died at the scene.
A 22-year-old woman who was driving the car was arrested but later released pending further inquiries.
Police set up a crime scene with initial inquiries suggesting the women were known to each other.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
