Police re-appeal for information on Cessnock Robbery in April

BY SARAH BARONOWSKI

Police are re-appealing for information about an armed robbery in Cessnock two months ago.

Just after 2:30 pm on April 1, a 27-year-old man was working at a newsagency on Wollombi Road when another man entered the store, armed with a knife.

He demanded cash before leaving the store.

Senior Constable, Vanessa Bolas says police have released CCTV images of a man they believe can assist their investigation.

"The man is described as wearing a balaclava, a hooded light grey jacket with a dark stripe down the arms, black gloves, dark coloured long pants and dark shoes with white socks."

Police have also released images of a vehicle they believe is connected to the robbery.

"The vehicle is described as a silver Mitsubishi Mirage with yellow and black number plates, standard hub caps and damage to the left rear wheel arch," said Vanessa Bolas.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Cessnock Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
