One teen dead, another in a serious condition following stabbing at Swansea

A 16-year-old boy has died after being stabbed multiple times at a home in Swansea overnight.

Emergency services were called to the home on Parbury Road at about 8:20pm on Friday night following reports of the attack.

Lake Macquarie Police attended the home where they found two teenage boys with stab wounds to the chest. Nearby witnesses assisted a 16-year-old boy until emergency services arrived; however, he died at the scene.

The second teen suffering stab wounds, another 16-year-old boy was treated by paramedics, before being taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition, where he underwent surgery.

A crime scene was established by police and following a search of the area, they located another 16-year-old boy in the backyard of a home on Parbury Road, Swansea about 9:20pm.

He was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station, where he is assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigations are continuing.

Teenager Injured in Muswellbrook Stabbing

A teenager has been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital following a stabbing on Wednesday night in the Hunter Valley.

Emergency services rushed to Tobruk Avenue at 6pm in Muswellbrook following reports a man had suffered stab wounds.

Police have been told the18-year-old male victim was walking in a laneway between Glenbawn Place and Tobruk Avenue when he was approached by two males and assaulted.

Following the confrontation, the teenager realised he had been stabbed in the back and the upper arm but was able to walk to a nearby residence where he was assisted, and police were contacted.

The man was treated at the scene before he was taken to Muswellbrook Hospital. He was then airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with a punctured lung but remains in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established and is being forensically examined with officers from the Hunter Valley Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Woman Arrested Over Salamander Bay Stabbing Attack

A woman has been arrested following an alleged stabbing attack at Salamander Bay which left multiple people with minor injuries.

Police say the 26-year-old was armed with a knife as she walked along Soldier's Point Road with her 5-year-old daughter at about 5:40 on Tuesday evening.

The woman then climbed into the backseat of an occupied car stopped near the intersection of Scott Circuit.

It's alleged the woman then stabbed a man inside the car with a knife covered by a protective sheath, causing minor lacerations to his shoulder.

The man's 15-year-old daughter was also in the car but escaped unharmed.

Following this, the alleged stabber got out of the car and continued walking with her child towards the shopping precinct where they entered a supermarket.

Some staff and customers ran outside, locked the doors and called the police.

While locked inside the supermarket, it's alleged the woman continued to attack customers with the still sheath-covered knife, causing minor injuries to a number of people before turning on her young daughter.

Police arrested the woman without incident and escorted her to Mater Hospital for treatment for lacerations to her fingers and head.

She will undergo a mental health assessment.

Her daughter has been taken to the John Hunter Hospital with lacerations to her scalp, which police say are non-life-threatening.

Three men were treated for superficial injuries at a local clinic.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.

Woman Charged Over Cessnock Stabbing

A woman has been charged over a stabbing at Cessnock last weekend.

On Sunday, May 5th, an argument broke out between two women, aged 25 and 33, at a licensed premises on Vincent Street.

The 33-year-old was evicted but later returned to the premises as the 25-year-old was leaving, when it's alleged she stabbed the younger woman several times in the back and face.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and released the next day.

Following extensive inquiries, the alleged attacker attended Cessnock Police Station around 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon where she was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police Investigate Stabbing At Bar Beach

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed at Bar Beach overnight.

Officers were called to a unit in Light Street at about 8.30pm on Monday where they found a 47-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his neck and arm - he was treated at the scene before being taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

Police set up a crime scene and are speaking with a number of people who they believe were inside the unit at the time.

Police Call For Witness after Late Night Stabbing in Mayfield

Police are looking for anyone with information after a man was stabbed at Mayfield late last night.

Police say at about 11:30pm, a group of people were arguing at a unit complex n Hanbury Street before a fight broke out which ended in a 15-year-old man allegedly receiving stab wounds to his left leg and hand.

The man was taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition, while police established a crime scene.

A 16-year-old was spoken to at the scene and arrested but later released from Newcastle Police Station pending further inquiries.

UPDATED: Man Arrested Over Alleged Stabbing Near Newcastle Post Office

Police have arrested and charged a man over an alleged stabbing incident outside the former Newcastle Post Office.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Hunter and Bolton Streets at about 9.00pm on Thursday where they found a man with a stab wound to his abdomen.

The 33-year-old was rushed to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

Police say they've now arrested and charged a man over the incident.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.


He's been refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today (Friday 20 October 2017).

It's believed the men knew each other.

Man Charged Over Maitland Stabbing

A 46-year old man has been charged with reckless wounding after allegedly stabbing a 50-year old man in the carpark of the PENDER PLACE SHOPPING CENTRE.

Paramedics were called to the carpark at around 5pm yesterday where two men were involved in an altercation.

The 50-year old victim suffered non life-threatening chest injuries.

Police searched nearby streets where they allegedly found the 46-year old man in possession of a knife.

It is believed the two were drinking buddies, with an argument alleged to have begun at a nearby hotel.

The accused was refused bail and will appear in Maitland Local Court today.
