Four Arrested Over Alleged Pursuit In Stolen Car At Cessnock

A 17-year-old boy is accused of stealing a car and leading police on a pursuit near Cessnock.

He's one of three boys and a 24-year-old man arrested after the chase ended at Cessnock on Monday night.

Police pulled the vehicle over for an RBT on Cessnock Road at Neath.

They say the car stopped briefly before being driven from the scene.

The car was pursued to Cessnock where it's alleged the occupants stopped and tried to flee on foot.

Three boys aged 15,16 and 17 and a 24-year-old man were arrested.

The 17-year-old has been charged with several offences including take and drive conveyance without consent and deliberately blackening or disguising  his face to avoid detection.

The 15 and 24-year-old's were also charged while the 16-year-old was dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

Manhunt Under Way After High Speed Pursuit Through Lake Macquarie

A pursuit through Lake Macquarie early this morning allegedly reached speeds of 160km/hr in a 60 zone.

Police say a white Corolla hatchback was stolen from a Tighes Hill address around 2.00am today (Thursday 10 July 2025), with the alleged offender driving to Tingira Heights where a domestic dispute took place with his partner before he drove off.

A police dog unit spotted the car on the Pacific Highway at Belmont but terminated the pursuit due to high speed and safety concerns.

Witnesses also reported the car being driven at high speed and on the wrong side of the road.

The car was found abandoned under the Inner City Bypass at Hillsborough just before 4.00am.

Three Under-18's Charged Over Pursuit In Allegedly Stolen Car At Muswellbrook

Three young people have been arrested following a pursuit in an allegedly stolen car at Muswellbrook.

Police attempted to stop a Volkswagen SUV on Wollombi Road just before 8.0aam on Wednesday - they say the vehicle had earlier been reported stolen from Scone.

A pursuit was initiated when the car failed to stop but was terminated at Denman due to the manner of driving.

Officers monitored the SUV until it stopped on Bengalla Road, with the alleged driver, a 14-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy arrested  in the grounds of the Bengalla Coal Mine.

A 13-year-old boy was also arrested at a nearby property.

They were taken to Muswellbrook Police Station.

The 14-year-old girl was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive at speed, take and drive conveyance withourt consent of owner, and break and enter with intent to commit serious indictable offence.

The tow passengers were charged with being carried in a conveyance taken without consent of owner and break and enter with intent to commit serious indictable offence.

All three have been granted conditional bail to face the children's court on May 28.

Man Charged With 11 Offences Over Wild Pursuit And Crash At Wickham

A 26-year-old man is due to face Newcastle Local Court today (Wednesday 15 January, 2025) charged with 11 offences after a wild police pursuit and crash at Wickham.

Just after 6.00pm on Tuesday Police attempted to stop an SUV at Waratah West which had been reported stolen.

The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

The chase continued for some time before the SUV collided with a motorcycle and a police vehicle at the intersection of Maitland Road and Sheddon and Albert Streets at about 6.30pm.

The rider, a 27-year-old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The police officers in the caged truck were not injured after their vehicle ended up on its side.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Newcastle Police Station.

He's been refused bail and charged with 11 offences including Police Pursuit, being carried in a conveyance without consent of owner, possess shortened firearm, possess loaded firearm, drug possession, goods in custody and resisting arrest.

A second man in the SUV fled the scene and is still on the run.

Six Teens Arrested Following Pursuit In The Hunter Valley

Police have charged six teenagers following a pursuit through the Hunter Valley.

Just after 10.30pm on Saturday 22 June, Highway Patrol officers say they spotted a Volkswagon sedan earlier reported stolen on the New England Highway at Whittingham.

They initiated a pursuit when the car failed to stop, with the chase heading through Singleton and Muswellbrook before road spikes were successfully deployed at Aberdeen and a road block set up.

During the roadblock Police say the car rammed into two highway patrol vehicles.

A 14-year-old male driver and his 5 passengers - one aged 15 and the others aged 17 were arrested and charged and faced the children's court on Sunday.

Teens Arrested After Pursuit In Alleged Stolen Car At Raymond Terrace

Police have charged two teenagers accused of leading officers on a pursuit in a stolen car at Raymond Terrace.

Patrolling officers spotted the white Toyota Corolla on Mount Hall Road on Sunday night and initiated a pursuit when the car failed to stop.

Road spikes were deployed, and the vehicle was found abandoned on Platt Street, Waratah a short time later.

Two males aged 15 and 18 were arrested along with a 13-year-old girl.

Police allege the 15-year-old was behind the wheel - both boys are now before the courts.

The girl will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

Man Facing Court After Pursuit At Maitland.

A man is due to front court today (Wednesday 5 June, 2024) accused of leading police on a pursuit in a stolen car at Maitland.

Police were called to reports of a man acting suspiciously near a white utility on Finney Close at Rutherford at about 11.00am on Tuesday.

A short time later the car was spotted on High Street at Maitland, but the vehicle took off when officers tried to pull it over, sparking a pursuit.

The chase was called off for safety reasons.

The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later on the banks of the Hunter River.

A 28-year-old man was arrested nearby.

He's been refused bail to face Maitland Local Court today charged with seven offences including vehicle theft, police pursuit and having custody of a knife in a public place.

BREAKING! Police Pursuit: Teens Arrested At North Lambton

Two teenage boys are set to face court today (Wednesday 29 May, 2024) accused of leading police on a high-speed pursuit through Newcastle's western suburbs in a stolen car overnight.

Around 3.00am on Wednesday, a routine patrol spotted a Holden Captiva, which was reported stolen from Wallsend five days ago, on the Link Road at Cameron Park and began following the vehicle.

The pursuit continued into Wallsend, with the car clocked travelling in excess of 100km/hr.

The Holden was then dumped at North Lambton.

A Police dog located two boys aged 15 and 17 in a backyard nearby where they were arrested.

They've been charged with pursuit and stolen vehicle offences and refused bail to face the Children's Court today.

Teen Facing Court Accused Of Ramming Police Vehicle With Stolen 4WD At Gateshead

A 15-year-old boy is due to front the Children's Court today (Tuesday 14 May, 2024) accused of ramming a police vehicle with a stolen 4WD at Gateshead.

Police say the fully marked vehicle was parked and unattended on Oxford Street at about 2.30am on Monday when an unknown vehicle crashed into the front of the police car before driving off.

Around midday police located a silver Jeep Cherokee with front end damage which was reported stolen from Salamander Bay at Eleebana and attended a home nearby in Jonathan Street where they arrested the 15-year-old.

He's been charged with seven offences including the new post and boast offence and has been refused bail ahead of his court appearance.

As investigations continue, police are urging anyone with information - or who were in the area at the time and may have dashcam or mobile phone footage to contact Belmont Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Teens Face Court Over Pursuit Through Newcastle And Port Stephens

Police have arrested three teenagers over a wild pursuit in a luxury car allegedly stolen from Lambton.

Police say the Audi A6 sedan was taken from a home on Grainger Street early Tuesday morning, with officers spotting the car on Glebe Road at Adamstown before giving chase.

The car eventually stopped at Tomago where the driver, a 15-year-old boy and his two passengers, a boy aged 15 and a 14-year-old girl, were arrested.

The male passenger was refused bail and faced the children's court on Tuesday charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen, and being carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner. .

The driver and female passenger have been given strict conditional bail to face the children's court on Monday 15 April, 2024.

Pursuit Ends With Arrest Of A Man At Tenambit

A man is due to face court today (Thursday 29 February, 2024) following the alleged theft of a car and police pursuit at Maitland.

Officers attempted to stop a stolen Toyota Hilux on Laurie Drive at Raworth.

As they approached the vehicle, the driver sped off and a pursuit was initiated.

It came to an end when the vehicle crashed into a fence on Korbel Street and the driver fled on foot.

The 22-year-old was arrested in O'Hearn Street at Tenambit a short time later with the help of PolAir and a police dog.

He's been refused bail to face Maitland Local Court today charged with 20 offences.

BREAKING! Three Teens To Face Court Over Wild Pursuit Through Newcastle

Three teenage boys are set to front the Children's Court today following a pursuit in an allegedly stolen car in Newcastle.

Members of the public alerted police to a car being driven dangerously in the Wallsend area on Monday afternoon.

They attempted to stop a sedan on Douglas Street at Waratah and began following the vehicle when the driver failed to stop.

It's alleged the car was used to ram two police vehicles in Abbott Street, causing extensive damage to one of them.

Police say a parked truck was also damaged and a man was struck by the car but not seriously injured.

The car eventually stopped at Jesmond and three boys aged 13, 15 and 16 were arrested.

Police say the 15-year-old was behind the wheel - he's been charged with seven offences.

The other boys have been charged with being carried in a conveyance - all three have been refused bail.

Police Arrest Man Accused Of Prompting PolAir Pursuit

A man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged assault and stolen car at North Lambton.

Police were called to a home on Acacia Avenue about 11:00am on Wednesday (16th of August 2023), and were told a man had been assaulted and had his car stolen. 
 
The 65-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a laceration to his arm.
 
A short time later, police located the car abandoned on Mayo Street at Jesmond.
 
Police canvassed the area with assistance from PolAir and the Dog Unit, however the man was unable to be located.
 
Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal, a 36-year-old man was arrested at Waratah at about 12:40pm yesterday (17th of August 2023).
 
He was refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today (Friday 18th of August).

Driver Of Allegedly Stolen Vehicle in Muswellbrook Still On The Run

Police are on the hunt for the driver of an allegedly stolen car which led officers on a pursuit though Muswellbrook this morning. 

Officers initiated the pursuit on Maitland Street at around 4 O'CLOCK this morning when they spotted a vehicle believed to have been stolen. 

Police pursued the car for a short time around the Muswellbrook township before losing sight of the vehicle. 

They're now reviewing CCTV footage from around the area as investigations continue.

Alleged Joy Riders To Face Belmont Court

Two men will front Belmont Court today (Friday 7 July, 2023) accused of going on a three-day joy ride in a stolen car.

Police allege a white Hyundai Tucson stolen from Cameron Park on Tuesday was spotted on Wednesday morning being driven in a dangerous manner along Harriet Street at Waratah.

The SUV was again noticed on the M1 at Wahroonga at about 4.00am on Thursday allegedly travelling at speeds of up to 180km/h, with a pursuit terminated for safety reasons.

Then around 7.30am, the vehicle was spotted on Croudace Bay Road at Belmont before it collided with a police car and took off.

The Hyundai was found a short time later in Gari Street at Charlestown where police were told two men were seen running into nearby bushland.

The pair, aged 18 and 22, were arrested with the assistance of the dog unit.

Man And Woman Arrested After Pursuit At New Lambton

A man and woman are due to front court today (Wednesday 29 March, 2023) after police were involved in the pursuit of an allegedly stolen car at New Lambton.

Patrolling officers spotted a Toyota RAV Four on Lookout Road at about 12.30am on Wednesday and began following the car when the driver refused to stop.

Police say the vehicle had been reported stolen from Queensland earlier this month.

The pursuit was terminated twice for safety reasons as the car was driven to Adamstown and Kotara South where police successfully deployed road spikes.

The 22-year-old male driver ran off and was tracked down in nearby bushland with the help of a police dog, while his 41-year-old female passenger was arrested at the scene.

The man's been charged with five offences including drive conveyance without consent of owner, driving while suspended and breach of bail.

The woman's been charged with being carried in a conveyance without the consent of owner.

Man And Woman Wanted Over Police Pursuit At Shortland

Police are asking for our help to identify two people wanted over a pursuit in a stolen car at Shortland.

Officers spotted the white MG SUV on the Inner City Bypass at about 12.30pm on Monday and began following the car, but terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.

A second pursuit was also called off when the car was allegedly reversed into a police vehicle.

The car crashed a short time later on Old Maitland Road at Sandgate and the occupants ran off.

The male driver is Caucasian, between 30 and 40 years old with black hair and a tattoo underneath his eye.

His female passenger is also Caucasian, about 30 to 40 years old and was wearing glasses.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

BREAKING! Teens Arrested After Police Pursuit At Cardiff.

Two teenage boys are in custody following a pursuit involving an allegedly stolen car at Cardiff.

Police spotted a red Mitsubishi on Macquarie Road at 3.50am on Tuesday and began following the car when the driver failed to stop.

The pursuit continued along The Esplanade at Speers Point where the car crashed into the median strip.

Two boys fled from the vehicle but were rounded up with the assistance of a police dog a short time later.

They've been taken to Toronto Police Station where they are assisting with inquiries.

Police say one of the boys is aged 17.

Pursuit Leads To Arrest Of Man At Hamilton

A man is due to front Newcastle court today (Friday 10 February, 2023) accused of leading police on a chase in an allegedly stolen car .

At about 5.30pm on Thursday police received reports of a stolen Mini van from Walker Street at Warners Bay.

Around 9.30pm the vehicle was spotted at the intersection of Donald and Beaumont Streets at Hamilton and a pursuit was initiated when the driver refused to stop.

However the car got stuck on the tracks at the Hamilton Railway Crossing and the driver ran off.

Officers arrested the 37-year-old after a short foot pursuit.

He's been refused bail on a raft of charges including never being licensed, take and drive conveyance, police pursuit and stealing.

Two Teenagers Charged Following Police Pursuit

Two teenagers have been charged following a pursuit through the Hunter yesterday. 

Police received reports a Kia Seltos SUV was reportedly stolen from a home in Calgaroo Avenue in Muswellbrook, as well as other personal items.  

A pursuit was initiated by Hunter Valley District Police when the vehicle was seen in Singleton just before 3pm, however it was terminated due to safety concerns. 

The vehicle was monitored travelling into Maitland, before police lost sight of it on the New England highway at Rutherford. 

The abandoned Kia was located shortly after at a home on Kristen Close, and two 15-year-old boys were arrested with the assistance of the dog unit at a nearby apartment. 

They are now facing multiple charges, including one breach of bail. 

They were both refused bail and will face Children's Court today.
