Man Charged After Gun Found In A Car At Raymond Terrace

A man is before court today, charged with traffic and firearm offences following a vehicle search at Raymond Terrace.

About 9:50am yesterday, Traffic and Highway officers were patrolling the Raymond Terrace area, when they saw the driver of a car stop in a driveway on Irrawang Street and run from the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the car allegedly revealed a firearm located inside.

Following inquiries, a 37-year-old man was arrested at a home on Glenelg Street a short time later.

He was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station, where he was charged with multiple offences. 

He was refused bail to appear before Raymond Terrace Local Court today.

Police are asking Hunter residents to be on the lookout for a missing person.

31-year-old Kye Norman was last seen in Denman on Monday afternoon. 

He's described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 175-180cm tall, with a fair complexion, thin build, brown hair, and blue eyes.
  
It's believed he's driving a Black 2011 Holden Colorado Utility with registration DO03IE

Police believe Kye is in the Cooks Hill or surrounding areas.

Police on the hunt for three men following reports of sexual touching incident in Scone

Police are searching for three men who allegedly sexually assaulted an eighteen-year-old woman in Scone last Thursday. 

The police say the woman was walking past a park on the corner of Grundy Road and Kelly Street, when she was assaulted by the three men on Thursday 6 April at about 7:45pm.  

All three men have been described as being of Caucasian appearance, and of average build, with one having a beard. 

At the time of the incident, all three were wearing jeans, with one wearing a grey cowboy hat. 

They were last seen leaving the area in a light-coloured SUV parked on Grundy Road.  

Police are urging anyone with information which may help investigations to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

UPDATE! Missing Lake Macquarie Man Believed to be in the Green Point Reserve

A body has been located during the search for a man reported missing from Lake Macquarie.

45-year-old Mark Walker was last seen leaving a hospital on Croudace Bay Road, Belmont, about 3am on Tuesday 4 April 2023.

When he could not be located, officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District were notified.

A search was conducted of the area with the assistance of SES, Surf Life Saving, Fire and Rescue and PolAir.

About 1.30pm on Wednesday, the body believed to be that of the missing man was located by police at Valentine.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

He was last seen wearing dark grey track pants, a dark jumper, and white joggers.

It's believed he's in the Green Point Reserve.

Anyone with information into his whereabouts is urged to contact Lake Macquarie Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Appeal to Locate Missing Hunter Valley Man

Hunter Valley Police are appealing for public assistance to locate 44-year-old Malcolm Appleby. 

Malcolm also goes by Raymond Parnell, and was last seen driving east on the Hunter Expressway near Branxton, about 1:45am on Saturday.

It's believed he's driving a green 2003 Toyota Corolla with NSW number plates reading AW54NZ.

Police and family hold serious concerns for his welfare.

Malcolm is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of slim build, with unshaven and balding hair, and a large scar on one of his lower legs.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

BREAKING! Search Resumes After Woman Seen Jumping From Stockton Bridge

A search is getting underway after a person was seen jumping from the Stockton Bridge overnight.

Police say they received a report from a member of the public who saw the female jumping from the bridge at about 6.30pm on Thursday.

A search of the area was conducted, but no-one was found.

Police say there has been no report of a missing person overnight.

Water Police and Marine Rescue are resuming the search this morning.

Man with medical condition missing near Maitland

Police are appealing to the public for help locating a man missing from Duns Creek, 24 kilometres north of Maitland.

42-year-old Luciano Dos Santos Pedroso was last seen leaving a house on Uffington Road around 10 o'clock yesterday morning.

He's driving a white Toyota Hilus with the registration, 494 WLY.

There are serious concerns for Mr Pedroso's welfare as he suffers from a medical condition and requires medication.

He's described as being of South American appearance with an olive complexion and is 170 centimetres tall.

Police say he's missing half of his right index finger and has tattoos on his arm along with medium length straight brown hair.

Anyone who sees Mr Pedroso is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

'Fruitless' Search for Missing Newcastle Man Called Off

Queensland Police have called the land search for a missing Newcastle man 'fruitless'.

They've been forced to suspend the search after exhausting all of their resources- having conducted a comprehensive land search which involved police and volunteers from the Rural Fire Service and State Emergency Service.

Jayden Peno-Tompsett disappeared on New Year's Eve in the Charters Towers area of North Queensland while on a mate's trip to Cairns.

Jayden's last known location is a vast area spanning 85 square kilometres of rugged bushland near the Burdekin River.

No sign of the missing 22-year-old has been found.

The investigation remains open and police continue to follow several lines of inquiry.

They'll start searching again if any clues are found.
