EARLIER: 

Police are asking for our help to find a man who's gone missing from Jesmond.

57-year-old Darren Daley was last seen in Michael Street at about 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday 17 September 2026) and there are concerns for his welfare as he lives with dementia and a number of medical conditions.

He's described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 165cm tall with a slim build, grey hair and a beard.

Darren was last seen wearing a green/khaki jacket, purple jumper, black tracksuit pants, black sneakers and a Koori Knockout hat.

UPDATE! Police Issue Urgent Appeal To Find Severely Injured Newcastle Man

Police have advised 42-year-old Peter Bates has been located and have thanked everyone who shared the appeal.

EARLIER: 

Police say a man's life is at risk unless he receives urgent medical treatment after going missing from the John Hunter Hospital.

42-year-old Peter Bates presented with a severe stomach wound yesterday afternoon (Thursday 12 June 2026) but was then seen boarding a bus at about 3.00pm.

The cause of his injury is unknown, but hospital staff have told police his life is in danger unless he receives treatment within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Peter's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall with a medium build and short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a grey beanie, black hooded jumper, light grey track pants, red shoes and was carrying a white plastic bag.

Police have advised 57-year-old Adam Hinks has been located.

EARLIER:  

A search is underway for a man who's gone missing from the Newcastle suburb of Carrington.

57-year-old Adam Hinks was last seen on Thornton Street on Friday May 29.

There are concerns for his welfare as he requires regular medication.

Adam's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall with a thin build, grey hair and green/hazel eyes.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and brown pants and it's understood his right arm is in a sling.

Man Goes Missing From Upper Hunter Camping Grounds

Hunter Valley police are asking for help to find a man who's missing in the Upper Hunter.

42-year-old Jamie White was last seen at the Allyn River camping grounds at about 11.00pm on Monday night.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall with a thin build, black hair and black facial hair and was last seen wearing black winter clothing.

Jamie is known to frequent the Branxton area.

Fears Growing For Missing Speers Point Man

Police are asking for our help to find a man who's gone missing from Speers Point.

55-year-old Evan Davies was last seen in the area on Friday May 22, 2026 at about 5.00pm and there are serious concerns for his welfare.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, 185cm tall with a medium build, bald, unshaven and brown eyes.

Evan is known to frequent the Speers Point and Sydney metropolitan area and may be driving a white 1990 Volkswagen panel van with the NSW registration RLH 993.

Fears Held For Hunter Man Missing For More Than Six Weeks.

Police are stepping the search for a Hunter man who's been missing since early last month.

69-year-old Gary Millard was last seen at East Maitland on Thursday March 5.

Police say Gary's disappearance is out of character and there are concerns for his welfare.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance with fair skin, medium build, about 170cm tall with grey hair and a beard.

It's thought Gary may be in the Sydney area.

Missing Indian Man Could Be In The Hunter

Police believe a man reported missing from Sydney could be in the Hunter region.

48-year-old Varum Badmi was last seen in Quakers Hill yesterday (Monday 20 April 2026) and concerns are growing for his welfare as he's been unable to be contacted or located.

He's described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, about 165cm tall with a medium build and short black hair and was last seen wearing a green shirt and black shorts.

Varum may be driving a grey Rav 4 with the NSW registration FEH 27B.

Police say he's known to frequent the Cessnock area.

32-year-old Codie Sams last seen at about 4.00pm on Friday 13 March 2026.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as he requires regular medication.

Codie's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall with a medium build, short blonde/brown hair with a similar coloured beard and moustache

He also has a tattoo on his right hand.

Codie was last seen wearing a green hoodie, green pants and black shoes.

Appeal to Locate Missing Metford Man

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a man missing from the Metford area.

31-year-old Beau McDonald was last seen leaving a home on Hakea Way in a 1997 white Holden Jackaroo SUV, at about 6.30pm last night.

Officers attached to the Hunter Valley Police District were notified and have commenced inquiries into his potential whereabouts.

Hunter Valley Police hold concerns for Mr McDonald's Welfare, describing his disappearance as, "out of character."

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 170cm to 180cm tall, of a medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

It's believed he frequents the Black Hill, Heddon Greta, Kurri Kurri and Maitland areas.

Police are asking members of the public not to approach a man reported missing from Waratah.

46-year-old Marak Pyrda was last seen at a medical facility in Platt Street at about 10.30am yesterday and there are concerns for his welfare as he lives with a medical condition.

Marak's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 190cm tall with a solid build and shaved head.

He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a white 'Under Armour' logo on the front, blue shorts, white ankle-length sox and black shoes and was also carrying a back pack.

Police are asking for our help to find a man who's gone missing in the Newcastle area.

37-year-old Timothy Trippier was last seen at the John Hunter Hospital last Saturday (21 February, 2026) and police hold concerns for his welfare.

Timothy's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175 to 185cm tall with a medium build and light brown hair and is believed to frequent the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas.

UPDATE! Land and Sea Search Launch For Man Missing From Catherine Hill Bay

Police have advised the search for Paul Ellis concluded on Monday afternoon when he was found at Flowers Drive in Catherine Hill Bay. 

The 48-year-old was taken to the John Hunter Hospital for assessment.

Police have thanked the community for sharing the appeal.

EARLIER:  

 A search is under way for a man reported missing from Lake Macquarie.

48-year-old Paul Ellis was last seen on the beach at Catherine Hill Bay at about 2.30pm yesterday (Sunday 22 February 2026).

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as he lives with a number of health issues.

PolAir and Marine Rescue were involved in the search during daylight hours with local police supported by Police Rescue and the SES in a land search overnight.

Paul is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 195cm tall with a thin build, short blonde hair and a goatee beard.

He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt and blue shorts.

43-year-old Aaron Dege was last seen in Gwalia Close at about 3.00am yesterday (Monday 9 February 2026) and police and family hold concerns for his welfare.

Aaron's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall with a thin build and brown hair.

He was last seen wearing hi-vis clothing.

Aaron may be driving a white Isuzu MUX with the NSW registration DAJ 17D.

The search continues for a man who's gone missing from Caves Beach.

55-year-old Peter Fekonja was last seen on Palm Tree Crescent at about 4.00am yesterday (Sunday 1 February, 2026) and the alarm was raised when he couldn't be contacted or located.

Peter's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall with a medium build and brown hair  and was last seen wearing a dark-coloured t-shirt and shorts.

He's known to frequent the Sydney area and may be travelling in a red Toyota Yaris with the NSW registration CG 23 BM.

56-year-old Andrew Leggett was last seen in Belmont at about 8.30 on Monday 15 December 2025.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as he lives with a number of health conditions.

Andrew's described as being of Caucasian appearance, 185cm tall with a large build, bald and may be clean shaven and may be wearing a shirt and shorts, although the colour these items is unknown. 

Police believe could be travelling to Queensland.

GREAT NEWS! Police have confirmed that David was found safe and well on Tuesday morning and have thanked the community and media for their assistance.

EARLIER: 

Police have issued an appeal for help to find a Sydney man who may be in the Hunter region.

49-year-old David Fowler was last seen at a Mobil service station at Singleton just before 6.00pm on Monday 20 October, 2025.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as his behaviour is considered out of character.

David is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 182 cm tall with a medium build and shaved head.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved light blue business shirt, black jeans, blue belt and brown shoes.

David may also be driving a white 2020-model Nissan Navara with the NSW registration, EYS 76A, which has black roof racks and a white canopy.

49-year-old Samuel Fallshaw was last seen at Penrith Railway Station on Tuesday May 28.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall with a large build, brown medium-length hair and hazel eyes.

He's known to frequent the Hamilton area and It's believed he was spotted in Newcastle in July.

Police are asking for our help to find a Newcastle man who's been missing for almost a week.

48-year-old Alexander Tumiotto was last seen on Tighes Hill Terrace at Tighes Hill at about 1.30pm on Monday June 30.

Police and family hold concerns for Alexander's welfare as he lives with Autism.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall with a medium build, unshaven, with dark hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing dirty ripped clothing and a beanie.

Police believe Alexander may be using the rail network to travel and is known to frequent Newcastle, Redfern and the Carriage works at Everleigh.
