Police Investigate Death Of Hunter Motorcyclist At Nabiac

Police are preparing a report for the Coroner after the body of a Hunter motorcyclist was found a Nabiac.

A passing cyclist noticed the body of a man lying in scrub about 4 metres from the Pacific Highway on Saturday morning and alerted police.

A damaged motorcycle was found several metres further on.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted in coming days to establish the cause of death and identity of the man, however initial inquiries indicate he is in his 40's from the Hunter region.

It's believed the crash may have happened up to two days before the man's body was found.

Truck Crash Closes Pacific Highway Northbound At Nabiac

Motorists heading north on the Pacific Highway are being advised of a serious truck crash at Nabiac south of Taree.

The crash involving three B-Doubles happened just before 3.30am on Thursday, blocking the northbound lanes.

One of the drivers remains trapped and emergency services are working to free him.

Diversions are in place however B-Double drivers will have to park their vehicles or delay their journey.

The highway is expected to remain closed for some time.

BREAKING! Truck Driver Killed In Horror Crash At Nabiac

A crash involving two trucks on the Pacific Highway north of Bulahdelah has claimed the life of one of the drivers.

Police say two B-Doubles were travelling one behind the other in the northbound lanes about 4 kilometres south of Nabiac at about 11.50pm on Thursday, when the front truck left the road and tipped over.

The rig travelling behind crashed into the wreckage.

The driver of the front truck, which was carrying garbage, died at the scene.

The other driver was freed by NSW Fire & Rescue and the VRA and airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head, pelvic and leg injuries.

A contra flow is now in place as crews continue cleaning up rubbish and the wreckage of both trucks which has been strewn across all four lanes of the highway.
