Police are preparing a report for the Coroner after the body of a Hunter motorcyclist was found a Nabiac.
A passing cyclist noticed the body of a man lying in scrub about 4 metres from the Pacific Highway on Saturday morning and alerted police.
A damaged motorcycle was found several metres further on.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted in coming days to establish the cause of death and identity of the man, however initial inquiries indicate he is in his 40's from the Hunter region.
It's believed the crash may have happened up to two days before the man's body was found.
