Brother Of NRL Star Arrested At Beresfield For Drug Trafficking

The brother of NRL star Payne Haas has allegedly been caught at Beresfield trying to traffick more than a million dollars worth of the drug ice into NSW from Queensland.

Police stopped a ute on Apprentice Close at about 11.45am on Tuesday.

A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered 1.8kg of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $1,080.00.

News Limited reports 19-year-old Zeda Haas and another man, 20-year-old Kaharau Beer were arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station.

Both have been refused bail to face Maitland Local Court today (Wednesday 16 August 2023) charged with drug trafficking and supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

Inquiries are continuing.

Man Arrested During Raid On Rehab Facility At Swan Bay

A man is due to face court today (Wednesday 2 August 2023) after police raided an unauthorised drug rehabilitation facility at Swan Bay.

Port Stephens Police and officers from the Raptor squad arrived at the facility at about 8.30am on Tuesday to conduct a Firearms Prohibition Order compliance check and noticed a man running from the premises.

He was quickly apprehended and searched, with police allegedly finding him in possession of drugs, luxury watches and more than $14,000 in cash.

A further search of the facility allegedly uncovered more drugs and mobile phones.

The 41-year-old man has been charged with drug offences and dealing in the proceeds of crime and refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today.

BREAKING! Police Smash Drug Ring: Four People Arrested, $2mil Drug Haul

Police have smashed a major drug supply ring, arresting four people during a coordinated operation in the Hunter and Central Coast.

Detectives from the Drug and Firearms Squad and the state's Crime Commission formed Strike Force Great in April this year to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine in the Hunter and Central Coast regions.

Three men and a 24-year-old woman were arrested at Belmont, Belmont North, Killarney Vale and Wyong on Wednesday and charged with a range of offences.

Officers also raided raided properties at Belmont North, Nords Wharf and Wadalba, allegedly seizing 2kg of methylamphetamine with an estimated street value of $2 million - $220,000 in cash, a gel blaster firearm, electronic devices and other items

Two men aged 38 and 42 have been charged with supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, while a 43-year-old man and the 24-year-old woman have been charged with taking part in the supply of an illegal drug.

It's alleged 38-year-old Joshua Toole, the brother of NSW Police Minister, Paul Toole is one of the four people arrested.

All four are due to front court today (Thursday 13 October, 2022).

Massive Cocaine Syndicate Smashed: Arrests In Lake Macquarie And Sydney

Three men are due to face courts in Newcastle and Sydney today accused of being part of a massive international cocaine supply syndicate.

Detectives investigating the gambling of a large amount of money at a casino uncovered the supply ring operating in NSW.

With the help of the United States Navy and Coast Guard, more than 17-hundred kilograms of cocaine was intercepted on vessels off the coat of Columbia and Ecuador in October and April with an estimated street value of 900-million dollars.

It's claimed the haul was part of conspiracy to supply 3000 kilograms of the drug.

Officers substituted the seized drugs destined for a Lake Macquarie storage facility.

A 42-year-old man was arrested yesterday attempting to access the items and a 37-year-old man was arrested in a nearby car park.

A third man, aged 58 was arrested at Sans Souci.

They've been charged with large commercial drug supply offences and refused bail to front court today.

Man To Face Court On Drug Supply Charges After Vehcile Stopped At Sandgate

A man is due to front court today (Monday 10 May 2021) accused of supplying a large commercial quantity of drugs following a vehicle stop at Sandgate.

Officers stopped a car on Maitland Road late on Friday afternoon and spoke to the 58-year-old driver before searching his vehicle.

It's alleged they found almost four kilograms of methlyamphetamine and a "substantial amount" of cocaine.

A subsequent search of the man's Fullerton Cove home allegedly uncovered more drugs along with a large amount of cash, silver and gold bars and silver bullion.

He's been refused bail to face Raymond Terrace Court today.

Two Men Face Court Accused Of Dealing Drugs From Kotara Barber Shop

Two men will face court again in May after being arrested on serious drugs charges.

The 38 and 51-year-olds are accused of supplying the drug ICE from a Barber Shop at Westfield Kotara.

Police also found $5,000 in cash in a drawer inside the store and later recovered methylamphetamine at a unit on Newcastle Beach.

Both men have been charged drug-related offences including supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and dealing in the proceeds of crime.

They've been remanded in custody until their next court appearance in May.

Man Arrested Over Large Cannabis Growing Operation At Singleton

A Vietnamese national is due to face court today (Thursday 17 September 2020) accused of cultivating a large commercial quantity of cannabis at Singleton.

Following inquiries, Police went to a home on Dimmock Street at Hunterview at about 5.30pm on Wednesday where they discovered a sophisticated hydroponic set-up.

It's alleged they found 258 plants growing inside.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the home and has been refused bail to front Singleton Local Court  charged with four offences including cultivating a prohibited plant.

Police will remain at the house today where they are processing and dismantling the set-up.

Major Drug Bust Off The Coast Of Newcastle

Three men have faced a Sydney court after a vessel allegedly filled with drugs was intercepted off the coast of Newcastle.

They were arrested following a joint operation between Federal and NSW Police and the Australian Border Force.

The three crew members have been refused bail and remain in custody.

The vessel has been taken to Balmain where the drugs are being unloaded and forensically examined.

Police are expected to provide more details later this morning.

Dozens Of Vials Seized During Maitland Drug Bust

Police have allegedly seized more than 200 vials of anabolic steroids during a raid on a home at Aberglasslyn

Officers went to a home in Lapwing Street on Monday and allegedly found 233 vials containing 2.3 litres of anabolic steroids and a further 5.2 litres of the drug along with glassware and chemicals.

A 31-year-old man was arrested - he's been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

Drugs Found In Speeding Car At Tighes Hill

A man is due to face court in July charged with disqualified driving and drug possession after being stopped by police at Tighes Hill.

Police conducting roadside speed checks say the 27-year-old from Aberglasslyn was driving a red Mitsubishi ASX on Industrial Drive on Saturday night when they clocked his car travelling at 81 kilometres per hour in a 60 zone.

Checks revealed he was a disqualified driver while a search of the car allegedly uncovered 4 bags of cannabis and a  bag of methamphetamine.

Police say he also returned a positive drug test for methamphetamine.

Massive Haul Of Illegal Drugs Intercepted Off The Hunter's Coast

Two men are facing life sentences after police intercepted a yacht off the coast of Lake Macquarie allegedly carrying $750 million worth of methamphetamine.

Officers boarded the La Fayette about 50 nautical miles off the coast early Saturday morning and arrested a 33-year-old New Zealand man and a 34-year-old man holding dual British and South African citizenship.

Police say more than 1000 packages wrapped in plastic were on board the vessel believed to contain the illegal drug.

The yacht was towed to Sydney and the men were refused bail charged with importing a commercial quantity of border controlled drugs.

Five Arrested Following Drug Lab Discovery

Police have made major drug busts across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

Strikeforce Castlestead detectives arrested two men at a service station on Gateway Boulevard Morisset yesterday afternoon, where a search of the pair revealed a large quantity of cocaine and cash.

They were taken to Belmont Police Station and charged with multiple offences - they will face Newcastle Local Court today.

Officers then carried out search warrants at Mayfield, Cameron Park and Wangi Wangi.

At Wangi, large amounts of cocaine, GHB and cash were seized amid the discovery of a clandestine drug lab.

All up five men, who are locals excluding one man from Rose Bay, have been arrested during the operation, with their charges ranging from supply, criminal enterprise, manufacture and expose a child to the process.

Police expect to make more arrests soon.
