A volunteer youth worker is due to face court today (Wednesday 20 January 2021) accused of sexually touching a young boy at a Newcastle youth club.
Police were alerted on December 22 to reports an 8-year-old boy had been touched by a man while attending a vacation care program at Broadmeadow.
A 57-year-old man was arrested at his Lambton home the same day and charged with three counts of sexually touching a child under the age of 10.
He was given strict conditional bail ahead of his second appearance in Newcastle Local Court today.
