A recovery operation is underway after the body of a man was located near the Strzelecki Lookout at Bar Beach overnight.
Emergency services were called to the location about 6pm on Wednesday night following concern for the welfare of a man believed to be aged in his 30s.
Upon arrival, police located the body of a man.
A crime scene was established and held overnight, with a recovery operation underway this morning.
Members of the public are urged to avoid the Bar Beach Carpark, Anzac Memorial Walk and Strzelecki Lookout.
The Anzac Memorial Walk will be blocked for several hours whilst the operation is ongoing.
PolAir is on route to assist with the operation.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
