Police are treating a fire which damaged a house at Muswellbrook overnight as suspicious.
Firefighters from Muswellbrook and Aberdeen were called to the single level fibro home on the corner of Sowerby and Dumaresq Streets just after 8.30pm on Monday and managed to quickly extinguish the blaze before it could take hold.
Police say the house was unoccupied and there were multiple ignition points, indicating the fire was deliberately lit.
A crime scene has been set up and forensic officers will continue investigations on Tuesday morning.
