A man is due to face Newcastle Local Court today accused of stealing vehicles and property from construction sites across Lake Macquarie.

It's alleged between July 2 and July 6, the 40-year-old broke into site sheds at Dora Creek, Boolaroo and Mount Hutton and stole quad bike, tipper truck, construction tools, large quantities of fuel and power generators worth more than $150,000.

Police say officers arrested the man after pulling over the stolen tipper truck on Albert Street, Warners Bay on Monday afternoon.

He's been charged with 15 offences and refused bail.
