Newcastle City Council are still no closer to appointing a new interim chief executive.
Council were required to cancel their meeting on Monday night after a number of councillors failed to attend.
All
four Liberal councillors, Brad Luke, Sharon Waterhouse, David Compton
and Lisa Tierney, and two independents, Allan Robinson and Andrea Rufo
were all no-shows.
Hence a decision on the new chief executive wasn't made.
The Councillors claim the taker for the top job was leaked to a member of the public before it had the chance to be reviewed by Councillors.
The meeting last night came to the decision the appointment would be handed over to the Office of Local Government.
