Fingal Bay Man Charged After Damaging Trains

A Fingal Bay man has been charged with numerous offences after damaging five light rail trains with extensive graffiti.

Three people, including the 25 year old from Fingal Bay gained entry to a Sydney Light Rail parking area in Lilyfield around 1am yesterday morning, extensively spraying graffiti onto trains.

Police attended and arrested the man while the other two evaded arrest.

A female probationary constable was knocked over as the offenders escaped; she was uninjured.

Police allegedly searched the man, locating two spray cans and an orange marker pen.

Bolt cutters and 28 spray cans were also allegedly found at the scene.

The Fingal Bay man was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with destroy/damage property, possess graffiti implement, go onto railway premises, and damage public passenger train.

He was granted conditional bail, to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on the 3rd of February.

Police are attempting to locate the other two offenders.
