Manhunt Under Way For Armed Bandits In Newcastle

Newcastle Police are investigating separate armed robberies at Islington and Broadmeadow overnight.

Two men entered the Metro Service Station on Maitland Road at about 10.45pm and threatened the male and female attendants with a weapon before escaping with cash and goods.

Then at 11.30pm, a man entered a hotel on Brunker Road at Broadmeadow armed with a gun and threatened two staff and two patrons before fleeing with cash.

He was last seen running down Chatham Street.
