Fire has caused extensive damage to a two storey brick home at Corlette.
Firefighters were called to Portside Crescent at about 7.15am on Tuesday to find a fire had broken out in the kitchen on the ground floor.
They managed to stop the flames from spreading to the second floor
Newcastle Fire Command says the occupants were safely evacuated without injury.
Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
