BREAKING! Three Vehicles Stolen From Hamilton South - Girl 13 Arrested

Police are again urging residents to lock up at night and keep car keys out of sight after 3 vehicles were stolen from Hamilton South early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to reports of persons on premises in Pulver Street just before 3.00am, arriving to find a black Jeep being driven from the home.

They gave chase, with the vehicle losing a wheel and crashing on Charlestown Road near the Newcastle Inner City Bypass.

The driver, believed to be a male in his mid teens, fled while his passenger, a 13-year-old girl from Brewarrina, was arrested.

She's been dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

Police later found a white Lancer abandoned, while a Volkswagen Tiguan from the Hamilton South address remains outstanding,

Officers Injured in Early Morning Pursuit

A man has been charged following a crash which ended a pursuit through the Hunter and left two police officers with soft tissue injuries.

Officers initiated a pursuit after spotting a Toyota Corolla speeding along Nelson Bay Road at Bobs Farm shortly before 1 o'clock on Sunday morning.

The chase continued south through Williamtown and Tomago before reaching Hexham Bridge, where officers deployed road spikes.

The Corolla drove through the spikes onto the bridge and collided with the stationary Highway Patrol vehicle while attempting to turn right onto the New England Highway.

The car stopped nearby after driving into a chain-wire fence and three people were arrested at the scene.

The driver, a 19-year-old Cessnock man, was charged with several offences including reckless driving, driving with a cancelled licence, and possession of the drug Methamphetamine.

Police also executed four outstanding warrants relating to offences including assault, damage property, fraud, contravene AVO, reckless wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The man was refused bail to face court on Monday, September 16.

The police officers injured in the crash were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Woman To Face Court Over High Speed Pursuit Through Newcastle's Western Suburbs

A 21-year-old woman is due to face court today accused of leading police on a high speed pursuit through the western suburbs of Newcastle.

Officers attempted to stop a grey Mazda CX-7 on Douglas Street, Wallsend in the early hours of Saturday morning, but the car took off, allegedly reaching speeds of 100 kilometres per hour through Wallsend, Birmingham Gardens, Maryland and Fletcher before heading back to Wallsend.

The car broke down on Newcastle Road and the woman ran off - she was found hiding under a house in Binney Street.

Police say she was on parole and disqualified from driving until 2043.

Sparks Fly As Police Pursue Damaged Car At Belmont

A 22-year-old Lambton man is due to face court later this month accused of leading police on a pursuit while drunk behind the wheel at Belmont.

Officers noticed a Toyota Camry with badly damaged wheels on the Pacific Highway at about 1.30am on Thursday - the car was being driven on the rim of one wheel, producing a shower of sparks.

However, the driver refused to stop when they tried to pull him over.

They followed the car up the highway to Belmont North where it was forced to stop due to the severe damage.

It's alleged the 22-year-old returned a mid-range blood alcohol reading and was driving without a licence.

Man Arrested After Police Pursuit at Rutherford.

A man is due to face court today after leading police on a pursuit in the Lower Hunter.

Officers noticed a Ford Falcon XR8 which had allegedly been involved in a police pursuit last week in Churchill Crescent, Rutherford just after 9 last night and began chasing the vehicle when the driver refused to stop.

The pursuit went for four minutes reaching speeds of 120 kilometres per hour in a 60 zone - officers terminated the pursuit at Lockinvar for safety reasons.

Just after 10pm, police noticed the car parked in the yard of home on Banks Street, East Maitland and arrested a 21-year-old man

He's been charged with SKYES Law, possession of methamphetamine and cannabis and goods in custody.

He's been refused bail to face Maitland Local Court today.
