BREAKING! Thousand Of Litres Of Fuel Spilt In Truck Crash At 12 Mile Creek

A major Hazmat incident is unfolding at 12 Mile Creek north of Raymond Terrace where two trucks have collided.

Newcastle Fire Command says a truck and fuel tanker collided in the northbound lanes of the Pacific Highway just south of the Bucketts Way at about 7.00am on Monday.

It's understood the drivers have been treated by paramedics and one has been taken to hospital.

Fire & Rescue says the tanker has spilled 26,000 litres of fuel on the road.

Northbound traffic on the highway is back for 5 kilometres and police are setting up a contra flow.

Several fire and Hazmat vehicles are at the scene, with the incident expected to be protracted for some hours.

BREAKING! Truck Loaded With Arnotts Biscuits Overturns At 12 Mile Creek

A semi-trailer loaded with 55 tonnes of Arnotts biscuits has overturned at 12 Mile Creek north of Raymond Terrace.

Emergency services were called to the southbound lanes of the Pacific Highway approaching the Bucketts Way just after 3.00am on Wednesday to reports a Linfox truck and trailer was on it's side and the driver trapped.

The man in his 20's was released and taken by road ambulance to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition suffering a knee injury.

The Hazmat unit from Newcastle pumped about 250 litres of diesel from a nearby causeway which had leaked from the ruptured fuel tank.

Newcastle Fire Command says efforts to salvage the truck and its contents will get under way later on Wednesday morning.

BREAKING! Crashes Causing Delays On Pacific Highway North Of Port Stephens

Emergency services have been called to reports of a persons trapped accident at 12 Mile Creek.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the northbound lanes of the Pacific Highway just after 5 o'clock on Friday morning near the weigh-in station close to the Buckets Way.

They found a vehicle crashed but the driver has left the scene,

Meanwhile, there are long delays for southbound motorists on the highway at Rainbow Flat after a semi-trailer carrying a load of Jatz crackers caught fire just before 4.30am.

Both southbound lanes are closed with diversions in place.

Crews Battle Truck Fire At Twelve Mile Creek

There are delays for northbound traffic on the Pacific Highway at Twelve Mile Creek due to a truck fire.

A semi-trailer caught alight near The Buckets Way just after 4.15 this morning (Monday 29 October).

It's understood the fire started in the braking system - the driver tried to put out the flames with an extinguisher but was unsuccessful.

A Fire & Rescue crew from Raymond Terrace and two RFS units from Medowie were called to the scene.

The fire was extinguished at 20 past 4 but it's understood the empty trailer of the truck has been badly damaged.

Salvage crews are on the way.

One Northbound lane is closed to traffic..
