$1.2 million dollar upgrades to the Cessnock East Public School Playground have been opened today.
They include a new sports field, shade trees and a shade sail, and a bigger level playing area.
Hunter MP Dan Repacholi says the synthetic grass field will provide benefits to the wider community.
“”It’s a lot of work, it’s been some good funding put into this, $1.2 million and they’ve used just about every cent of it.
“They’ve got a beautiful undercover area with a shade sail and soft fall mat there [that] they can do a lot of work with,” he said.
