Lake Macquarie Police are investigating a home invasion at Belmont South.
Police say three men forced their way into a granny flat at a home on McEwan Street at about 10.30pm on Sunday and assaulted the male occupant before fleeing in a car.
The 25-year-old suffered minor cuts and swelling to the face.
It's believed the offenders and the victim are known to each other.
Police have set up a crime scene and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
