The family of Beresfield man, Raymond Peterson have thanked the community for their help and support after a body, believed to be that of the 85-year-old was found at Beresfield Golf Course on Wednesday.
Mr Peterson, who lived with Azheimer's disease, was last seen at about 2pm on Monday before taking his dog Jackie for a walk.
His disappearance sparked a massive multi-agency search, supported by hundreds of local residents.
Police say the body of a man was found near Andersen Drive at about 12.30pm on Wednesday, and while it is yet to be formally identified, it's believed to be that of the 85-year-old.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
