Two Men In John Hunter Hospital After Boat Capsize At Port Macquarie

 BY IAN CROUCH

Two men have been airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital with serious injuries after being run over by their own boat on the Mid North Coast.

The men in their 50's were thrown into the water when a rogue wave overturned their vessel at Point  Plomer north of Port Macquarie.

The pair were then run over by their unmanned vessel and sustained injuries from the propeller.

They managed to swim about 2 kilometres to shore and were treated by paramedics for serious leg and abdominal injuries.

They were stabilised and flown to Newcastle by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
