A woman is in a stable condition in the John Hunter Hospital after being hit by a car south of Lake Macquarie.
Paramedics and the Hunter's Westpac Rescue helicopter were called to a residential area of Wadalba on Tuesday afternoon where the 40-year-old had been struck by the vehicle.
She suffered serious leg injuries after being dragged for a short distance by the car.
She was flown to hospital suffering multiple leg fractures, cuts and abrasions.
