The New South Wales Rural Fire Service is urging residents in the Hunter Region to plan and prepare for potential fires over the next few days due to anticipated hot and dry weather.
Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons from the RFS says "temperatures will reach the mid-40s in a number of areas" over the next few days, including the weekend.
The Bureau of Meteorology indicates that no rain or humidity will be around to decrease the likelihood of fire danger.
Greg Allen from the RFS has advised that locals visit the RFS website, the MyFirePlan website as well as download the Rural Fire Service app in order to get timely fire warnings and tips for making your home safer during fire season.
