Clothes Dryer Sparks House Fire At Waratah

BY IAN CROUCH

A clothes dryer is being blamed for a fire which caused extensive damage to a house at Waratah last night.

Seven fire trucks were called to the single level home on Tighe Street just before 7 o'clock to find the unoccupied home well alight.

It's taken about an hour to extinguish the fire which damaged about 50 per cent of the house.

No-one was injured in the blaze.

Police say a it appears a clothes dryer left on at the back deck of the house sparked the fire.
