Lake Macquarie firefighters have been kept busy overnight with separate fires at Marks Point and Windale.
A garage attached to the rear of a house on Ashley Street, Marks Point went up in flames just before midnight.
Crews from Swansea, Tingira Heights and Belmont battled the flames for two hours, with stored petrol exploding during the incident- it's understood there was at least one car and two motor bikes in the garage which were destroyed.
Meanwhile, fire has caused extensive damage to an abandoned home at Lake Street, Windale.
Firefighters were called to the singe level fibro home just before 2.00am.
The cause of both fires is not known at this stage.
