BREAKING! Home Destroyed By Fire At Lochinvar

A fire which destroyed a home at Lochinvar overnight is believed to have been deliberately lit.

Fire and Rescue and RFS crews were called to the home on St Helena Close just after 1.00am today (Wednesday 14 January, 2026) to find the house fully involved in fire.

It's taken more than 3-and-a-half hours to bring the fire under control - crews are still mopping up hot spots.

Newcastle Fire Command says all occupants were accounted for - it's alleged a resident suffering a mental health episode set fire to the home.

Police are yet to confirm details but say the fire is suspicious and under investigation.

Appeal for Help to find Missing Teenager from Hunter Valley

Police are appealing for public assistance to find a missing teenager from the Hunter Valley.

Jordan, aged 14, was last seen at Lochinvar at about 8pm on January 20.

He's known to frequent the Newcastle and Maitland areas.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is being asked to contact Port Stephens Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Crash Claims Woman's Life At Lochinvar

A report is being prepared for the Coroner after a woman was killed in a single car crash at Lochinvar.

Police say the 47-year-old lost control of her car on Windermere Road at about 7.30pm on Sunday and hit a tree and the died at the scene.

It's believed the woman lived in nearby Windermere.

Investigations in the crash continue and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
