 BY IAN CROUCH

A group of teenagers aged between 13 and 16 who allegedly led police on a wild pursuit through Lake Macquarie early Monday have been arrested.

Police began following a Hyundai Sante Fe and a BMW X1, both believed to be stolen, on Minmi Road at Cameron Park around 2.30am on Monday when the drivers fail to stop.

The Hyundai was dumped on Maim Road at Edgeworth and the occupants got into the BMW which then allegedly rammed a police car before fleeing towards Cardiff.

No-one was injured and the chase was called off.

Then at about 8.20am, the BMW was spotted on the Golden Highway at Mount Thorley and another pursuit was initiated.

Road spikes were deployed and the car stopped at Sandy Hollow where 7 teenagers were arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station.
