Drugs And Firearms Seized In Raid On Central Coast And Lake Macquarie Homes

Raptor Squad Police have arrested a man and seized firearms, ammunition and drugs during raids on three homes in Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast.

Squad members allegedly found ammunition and prohibited drugs during compliance checks at homes in Halekulani and Cameron Park.

Then at about 9.30am on Tuesday 3 February 2026 a man was spotted running from scene of the single vehicle crash on the Pacific Highway at San Remo carrying a black bag.

A search of the area by the Dog Squad uncovered two black bags which police say contained two pistols, and a large quantity of methylamphetamine and MDMA.

Officers then went to a San Remo home, allegedly finding 7 more firearms, a large amount of drugs, two pill presses, drug paraphernalia and $6500 in cash.

They later returned to the home and arrested a 24-year-old man.

He's been charged with 19 offences including supplying a large commercial quantity of prohibited drugs, firearms offences and knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime.

The man's been refused bail to face the Bail Division Court today (Thursday 5 February 2026).

Firearms And Ammunition Seized During Raid On Kotara Home

A man is due to front court today (Wednesday 15 October, 2025) after police allegedly seized several firearms and ammunition from a Kotara home.

Following an extensive investigation, officers from the State Crime Command executed a search warrant yesterday at a home on Joanne Street.

It's alleged they uncovered a number of firearms and more than a thousand rounds of ammunition.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

He's been charged with 12 firearm and drug-related offences and refused bail to face the bail court today.

Man Accused Of Public Place Shooting At Denman Faces Court

A man accused of possessing a number of unauthorised firearms including a home-made gun at Muswellbrook has been remanded in custody after his case was mentioned in court.

Joshua Claude Bowman was arrested on Wednesday 17 January, 2024 during a police operation as part of investigations into a public place shooting at Denman.

He was not required to appear when his case was mentioned in Singleton Local Court on Thursday and there was no application for bail.

The 27-year-old is facing 17 charges relating to possession of unauthorised firearms, vehicle theft and having goods in custody suspected of being stolen.

The case has been adjourned to Newcastle Local Court on March 20.

Statewide Firearm Blitz Sees Two Men Arrested In The Hunter

Police have raided several properties across the Hunter, seizing 80 firearms and 30,000 rounds of ammunition as part of a coordinated operation across the state.

Operation Pendula involving the Raptor squad, focused on people with links to organised crime or outlaw motorcycle gangs.

Officers swooped on properties at West Wallsend, Mount Hutton and Greta as part of the statewide crackdown, revoking nine firearm licences and suspending five others.

A 50-year-old man from Greta has been charged after police allegedly located a firearm with a silencer attached to it - he's due to face Belmont Court on November 8.

A 34-year-old Mount Hutton man will face Cessnock court on November 8 after police say a slingshot was found on his property - he's also been charged with not keeping a firearm safely.

Bulahdelah Bikie Charged As Part Of Operation Morpheus

A man from Bulahdelah is one of 74 people arrested in NSW, as part of a five-day national crack-down on outlaw motorcycle gang activities.

Raptor Squad Detectives took part in Operation Morpheus last week, which involved officers from every state and territory in Australia.

Among those arrested was the 49-year-old from Bulahdelah, who was allegedly found in possession of three guns, two replica firearms, ammunition, a crossbow, knives and Comancheros paraphernalia.

Police also uncovered cannabis plants, 5kg of dried marijuana, and cannabis products inside two tents at the man's home.

He's been charged with 19 weapons and drug supply counts.

Armed carjacker faces court

A man appeared at Newcastle Local Court on Thursday morning relating to an armed carjacking on Monday.

At 4pm it is alleged Scott Burns threatened three people with a firearm at a Charlestown shopping centre before stealing their vehicle.

Lake Macquarie police officers were unable to locate the vehicle on Monday, arresting the man on Wednesday at a home on Emerald Street at North Lambton.

At the home, the police seized clothing and items believed to be illicit substances, which are awaiting forensic examination.

It is alleged he aimed a firearm at police during the arrest.

The thirty-two year old was charged with fourteen offences including robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon and possessing a loaded firearm in a public place. 

The man was refused bail and will re-appear in court in August

Six Charged Over Alleged Newcastle Pub Brawl

Six people have been charged after a brawl broke-out at a pub in Newcastle last month.

It's alleged, a 36-year-old man threw glass at a wall and grabbed a female staff member after being asked to leave the premises.

A fight broke out, and shortly after, the man and three others left the venue. 

They returned two hours later and allegedly assaulted a number of patrons in the carpark of the premises, including a 33-year-old man who was knocked unconscious and taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.

Following inquiries, Raptor North Squad officers executed four search warrants at properties in Cardiff, Edgeworth, Gillieston Heights, and Newcastle West from 5:00am yesterday, where they seized five firearms, cannabis, and MDMA.

Four men and two women were arrested.

It's believed all four men are senior members or associates of the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

BREAKING! Police Smash Major Drugs And Firearms Supply Ring In Newcastle

Newcastle Police believe they've smashed a major drugs and firearms supply ring following coordinated raids across the city.

Detectives from Strike Force Bassy executed five search warrants in New Lambton, Mayfield, Hamilton and Sandgate yesterday and allegedly seized $30,000 in cash, cannabis, LSD, MDMA, prescription medication, a laptop, mobile phones and other items.


A 24-year-old man was arrested at a home on Turton Road, New Lambton, and was taken to Waratah Police Station. He was charged with possess unauthorised firearm and deal with the proceeds of crime.

A 49-year-old man was arrested at a unit on Beaumont Street, Hamilton, and was taken to Waratah Police Station. He was charged with possess unauthorised firearm and deal with the proceeds of crime.

A 49-year-old man was arrested at a unit on Carrington Street, Mayfield, and was taken to Newcastle Police Station. He was charged with supply prohibited drug.

All three were refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today (Thursday 11 June 2020).

Newcastle City Police District Commander, Detective Superintendent Brett Greentree, said this is a fantastic example of a joint operation between local police and State Crime Command.

“The collaborative effort between our detectives and the Drugs and Firearm Squad has been exceptional – working together to remove a large number of drugs and firearms off the streets.
“These arrests will dismantle some of the local supply chains throughout the Newcastle area.
“Newcastle City officers will continue to target those offenders who are determined to disrupt our community,” Det Supt Greentree said.

Investigations into Strike Force Bassy are continuing with more arrests expected.
