Man To Face Court Over Alleged Armed Robbery On Stockton Hotel

A man is due to face court today (Tuesday 27 May, 2025) over an alleged armed robbery on a Stockton hotel.

It's alleged the 30-year-old entered the Boatrowers Hotel on Fullerton Street just before 8.00pm on Saturday and threatened patrons before demanding cash from staff.

It's further alleged he stabbed a 68-year-old man during the incident - the victim left the hotel and later attended John Hunter Hospital for treatment.

Patron held the 30-year-old until Police arrived.

It's alleged he had several weapons on him including a gel blaster firearm.

He's been charged with five offences including robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

 The man's been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today.

BREAKING! Alleged Getaway Driver Arrested Over Stockton Pub Armed Robbery In 2019

Strike force detectives investigating a violent armed robbery on a Stockton hotel three years ago have arrested the alleged driver of the getaway car.

Police say two masked men armed with a firearm and tomahawk entered the Boatrowers Hotel on Fullerton Street at about 11.30pm on June 26, 2019.

It's alleged the pair aged 35 and 26 threatened and assaulted two staff before making their getaway in a stolen Audi with a moderate sum of cash.

The two staff suffered minor injuries and have since recovered.

The car was later found burnt out on Pitt Street.

The two men have since been charged and are before the courts.

A third man, aged 33, who's an inmate at Bathurst Gaol has now been charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon and take and drive conveyance without consent of owner.

It's alleged he was involved in a second armed robbery on the Boatrowers Hotel on December 28 last year.

He's been remanded in custody to face Newcastle Local Court today.

UPDATE! Staff And Patrons At Stockton Pub Held Up At Gunpoint

Police are investigating an armed robbery on a Stockton hotel.

Two men entered the Boatrowers Hotel on Fullerton Street at about 11.30pm on Wednesday armed with a rifle and a tomahawk.

They threatened two staff and two patrons, with a 40-year-old man receiving a small laceration to his face.

One of the bandits demanded cash from a staff member - he was handed a moderate amount of money before the pair fled.

Police believe an Audi found burn out nearby in Pitt Street just after midnight was used as the getaway car. It was being driven by an accomplice with another passenger on board.

The 40-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics - no-one else was injured.

Police Investigate Armed Robbery On Stockton Hotel

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Stockton hotel.

A man entered the Boatrowers Hotel in Fullerton Street just after midnight and threatened staff and patrons with a hand gun.

He was handed an amount of cash before fleeing.

No-one was hurt during the incident.

Police are checking CCTV footage in a bid to identify the bandit.
