Man Assaulted And Robbed On Train At Cardiff Railway Station

Investigations are ramping up into a savage assault and robbery on a train at Lake Macquarie.

Police say at about 5.30am on Sunday November 6, a 28-year-old man was travelling on a southbound train when he was assaulted from behind by an unknown man while the train was at Cardiff Station.

He was dragged to the floor of the carriage and set upon by 3 other man before having his mobile phone stolen.

The victim was able to escape at Cockle Creek station and call police.

Police have released  CCTV images of the alleged culprits

Police want to speak to these men in connection with an alleged assault and robbery on a train at Cardiff

Man Bashed And Robbed At Warabrook Railway Station

Two people are due to face court today (Tuesday 27 July, 2021)  accused of assaulting and robbing a man at the Warabrook Railway Station on Monday night.

Police say a 25-year-old man was riding his bicycle near the station just after 7.00pm when he was stopped by 3 people who assaulted him before making off with his bike and other belongings.

He was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment.

A short time later, police arrested a 17-year-old girl at Jesmond and a 22-year-old man at Waratah West.

They've been refused bail to face court today charged with robbery in company.

Police are yet to speak to the 3rd alleged offender.

The pushbike has been recovered.

Police Investigate Assault And Robbery At Rutherford

Police are searching for three men wanted over the assault and robbery of two others at Rutherford early Sunday morning.

The two victims aged 25 and 28 left a hotel on the New England Highway at about 3.00am when they were approached by the three unknown men.

One of them hit the younger man over the head with a glass bottle, knocking him unconscious.

The trio then attacked the other man, demanding cash and their mobile phones before running off along Harvey Road.

The injured men were treated at Maitland Hospital.

The three men are described as being on Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, between 160 and 180cm tall and were wearing hooded jumpers.

Thornton Break and Enter

Police have launched an investigation into a Thornton break-in that occurred last night at a home on Railway Avenue.

The 28 year-old victim, who is legally blind, told police he heard a noise at around 6 pm before he was forced into a wall. Fortunately he was left uninjured, and the offender did not take anything from the home before fleeing the scene.

The assailant was described as being around 175 cm tall with a medium build, and of Caucasian appearance. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.

Man Attacked And Robbed At Jesmond

Police are searching for two thugs who attacked and robbed a man at Jesmond.

The 38-year-old withdrew cash form an ATM at Stockland Jesmond at about 6.00pm on Wednesday.

He then walked through a nearby sports field and entered a laneway near Fraser Street where he was attacked from behind by two men.

The men demanded his wallet before knocking him to the ground, assaulting him several times and stealing his mobile phone and wallet.

The victim managed to run to a nearby bowling club and alert police.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.

Man Bashed And Robbed At Wallsend

Police are searching for four men over a violent robbery at Wallsend overnight.

A 25-year-old man was approached by the group at the corner of Metcalf and Cowper Streets at about 9.50pm on Wednesday.

One of the group hit the man in the face before they made off his watch, mobile phone and shoes.

The victim made his way to a nearby fast food restaurant to raise the alarm.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
