Power is still out to about 36 customers at Swansea after a pole caught alight just after 5 o’clock this morning on the Pacific Highway southbound, just after the bridge.
Emergency services arrived to find the pole arcing, with smoke issuing. An exclusion zone was set up while crews waited for the power to be switched off.
Firefighters then extinguished the blaze. Power’s expected to be back up by 3 o’clock this afternoon.
