A pregnant woman has been assaulted during a frightening home invasion at at Wallsend early today.
Police say up to 5 people stormed a home on McNaughton Avenue just after 12.30 this morning armed with knives, machetes and pieces of timber.
It's alleged they attacked a 20-year-old pregnant woman before fleeing.
She was taken to the John Hunter Hospital for treatment of cuts to her hands.
