Man Faces Court over Two Alleged Armed Robberies

A man will front court today charged over two alleged armed robberies in the Hunter Valley last month.

Police allege he robbed a fashion store in Bridge Street Muswellbrook on October 10 at knifepoint getting away with cash.

It's also alleged he threatened staff at a restaurant in the same street with a knife on October 31 and again escaped with cash.

After extensive investigations into both incidents, officers from the Hunter Valley Local Area Command attended a home in Glenbawn Place, Muswellbrook at 10:50am yesterday and arrested a man.

The 23-year-old was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery armed with an offensive weapon.

He was refused bail and appears in Singleton Local Court today.

Police on the Hunt for Hooded Thief in Charlestown

Police are on the hunt for a man who threatened a group of people in Charlestown over the weekend.

At about 12:40am on Saturday night a man armed with a knife allegedly threatened a woman and five men on a sporting oval on the Pacific Highway and stole three wallets.

He's being described as in his 20s, about 168cm tall and wearing a grey hooded jumper and a grey or navy balaclava. He was last seen heading towards a club on Lincoln Street.

No one was injured during the incident.

An investigation is underway- anyone with any information is urged to come forward.

More Arrests Made Over Terrifying Abermain Armed Robbery

More charges have been laid over a terrifying hold-up at Abermain Bowling Club earlier this year.

Detectives have charged two more people over the June 19 robbery where a female employee was allegedly tied up with duct tape and $16-thousand dollars was stolen.

The State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad arrested a 33-year-old Weston man and a 29-year-old woman from Pelaw Main yesterday.

The man was refused bail and appears in Maitland Local Court today, the woman was also refused bail and will front Cessnock Local Court today.

They're not the first arrests over the incident, a 35-year-old man was arrested the day after the incident and charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon, maliciously damage vehicle by fire, stealing and a number of traffic offences.

He is still before the courts.

Newcastle Teen To Face Court Accused of Threatening Service Station Staff with a Gun

A Newcastle teenager will front a Children's Court today after threatening staff at an Adamstown service station.

At about 11:10am on Saturday (9th September) the 17-year-old went into a service station on Glebe Road and became involved in an altercation with a staff member, throwing a cup of coffee at the employee.

The situation escalated quickly when the teenager retrieved a pistol from his car and allegedly threatened staff members who retreated inside the store.

After kicking the front doors of the store the teenager, and two of his friends, left in his car.

At about 11:30 last night, the teenager attended Newcastle Police Station with the remains of the replica firearm which had been smashed.

He was arrested and later charged with multiple offences including being armed with intent to commit indictable offence, common assault, possess unauthorised firearm and traffic offences.

The teen was refused bail.

Police on hunt for man who threatened pizza delivery driver

Police are on the hunt for a man who threatened a delivery man in Maitland last weekend.

The 21-year-old pizza delivery driver had parked his car on Lee Street at about 9pm on Saturday night when he was approached by an unknown man.

The driver assumed the man was coming to pick up his pizza and wound down the car window, but the offender allegedly held a knife up to the driver's throat and demanded cash.

The armed man is described as Caucasian, aged in his late teens with long black hair and a medium build.

He was also allegedly wearing a black hoodie, grey pants and white joggers.

Worker threatened by a man wielding a knife in Muswellbrook

A 34-year-old man will face Singleton Local Court today after alleged armed robbery and domestic violence charges at Muswellbrook.

Police have been told at about 2:45pm yesterday a man working at a motel on Maitland Road was threatened by the 34-year-old armed with a knife and demanded cash.

The man left on foot and a short time later was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident in Ruthwhite Avenue.

Hunter Valley officers attended and had to use a taser to subdue the man during the arrest.

He was taken to Muswellbrook Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon, common assault (DV), two counts of breaching an AVO, and two counts of destroying or damaging property (DV).

He was refused bail.

Man threatens couple with screwdriver

A man will face Toronto Local Court in July after allegedly intimidating a man and woman and verbally abusing others near his house in Lake Macquarie.

Police have been told that at about 2:30pm, a man began approaching and verbally abusing a number of people who were walking or in their cars at Terrigal Street, Morisset.

It's alleged he threatened a man and woman who were sitting in their car with a screwdriver. It's also claimed he verbally abused other people.

Officers were called to the location and a nearby school was placed into lockdown as a precaution.

Police arrested the 30-year-old man and he was taken to Toronto Police Station and charged with two counts of intimidation as well as malicious damage and granted conditional bail.
