Update: Three People Injured In Head-On Smash Near Gloucester

The Hunter's Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been called to a serious crash at Bakers Creek east of Gloucester.

Two cars collided head-on on Bakers Creek Road near The Buckets Way at about 7.30am.

Four ambulances were sent to the scene along with the Westpac rescue helicopters from Tamworth and Newcastle.

A 19-year-old woman in one of the cars suffered a head injury in the smash - she's been flown to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital. A NSW Ambulance spokesperson says another female in the car, believed to be about 18 years old, suffered a suspected broken collar bone. It's understood she's also been airlifted to the John Hunter.

An 80-year-old woman in the other car was transported to hospital with hip and chest pain.

Woman Critical After Head-On Smash At Buchannan

Crash investigators are piecing together the circumstances leading up to a bad smash at Buchannan overnight.

Two cars collided head-on along John Renshaw Drive at about 8.00pm on Wednesday.

A 30-year-old woman was freed from the wreckage and taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

Two Young Men In Hospital After Horror Smash At Cooranbong

A 22-year-old man is in a serious condition after a head-on smash at Cooranbong last night.

Police say a 19-year-old man from Mirrabooka was driving a Proton Neo on Freemans Drive just after 7 o'clock when he lost control and slammed into a Ford Laser.

The 22-year-old driving the Laser was trapped before being freed by the Police Rescue Squad - he was airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital with serious leg and internal injuries.

The 19-year-old was transported to the John Hunter by road ambulance with internal injuries.

Freemans Drive was closed for 5 hours while crash investigators examined the scene.
