Police Searching For Man In Relation To Cardiff Car Thefts

Lake Macquarie Police are asking for assistance in locating a man they believe to be involved in recent car yard thefts.

The man depicted in the image below is wanted for questioning following the thefts from a Cardiff car yard in October 2018.

He is described as being Caucasian, short brown hair and last seen wearing fluoro high visibility clothing.

Anyone with information that may help identify the man is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Man Shot in Targeted Attack at Hamilton

A man is recovering in hospital after he was shot in the face in Hamilton overnight.

At about 10:40pm three men, one armed with a firearm, went to a unit on Gordon Avenue where a 37-year-old man lived.

A confrontation allegedly broke out between the group, resulting in the 37-year-old man being shot.

Emergency services were called to the scene, treating the man before taking him to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Detectives set up a crime scene and are conducting further inquiries.

Early investigations suggest the attack may have been targeted.

Fears Held For Missing Karuah Man

Police hold serious concerns for the welfare of a man who's gone missing from Karuah.

Matthew James was last seen by his family driving away from his home on Monday morning in a white 1989 Toyota Hilux.

It's believed the 41-year-old could've been headed to bushland in the Port Stephens and Lower Mid North Coast areas - but he could also be travelling to Queensland.

He's not been in touch with his family - and they are very worried because he suffers from a medical condition.

Matthew is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175 to 180 centimetres tall with a medium to solid build - and he regularly wears a wide-brimmed hat.

Police Call For Witness after Late Night Stabbing in Mayfield

Police are looking for anyone with information after a man was stabbed at Mayfield late last night.

Police say at about 11:30pm, a group of people were arguing at a unit complex n Hanbury Street before a fight broke out which ended in a 15-year-old man allegedly receiving stab wounds to his left leg and hand.

The man was taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition, while police established a crime scene.

A 16-year-old was spoken to at the scene and arrested but later released from Newcastle Police Station pending further inquiries.

Police Release CCTV Image of Wanted Man

Police are still on the hunt for a man who held up a fast food restaurant in Mayfield this week.

A man allegedly entered the KFC on Maitland Road at about 11:40pm on Tuesday (7th November 2017) night threatening staff with a knife and demanding cash.

He got away with a quantity of cash from the till and fled along Corona Street.

Staff contacted police who established a crime scene - no one was injured.

The person depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, large build and short, light brown hair. In the CCTV image, he's seen wearing a black long sleeve jumper, grey tracksuit pants, no shoes and a red shirt/bandana around his neck and face.

Newcastle Police Issue Warning Over New Superman Tablet

Newcastle Police will be targeting drug use at Summer festivals after several people were taken to hospital following a suspected overdose.

11 people were taken to the Calvary Mater and John Hunter Hospitals between last Friday and Monday night after taking a blue pill emblazoned with a Superman logo.

Inspector Shane Buggy says people are continuing to risk their lives by taking illicit drugs.

“You never know what it is in the pill you are about to take or what it may or may not contain. You will never know how your own body may react with any substance you might take; whether you have consumed illicit substances before or not," he said.

Police Enlist Public Help To Find Wanted Man In Newcastle

Police are stepping up the search for a man wanted for outstanding warrants in the Newcastle area.

47-year-old Mark Wasson is wanted on two outstanding warrants for revocation of parole relating to a robbery offense and other matters.

He's described as being Caucasian, 165 to 180cm tall with a thin build and brown hair.

Wasson is known to frequent Newcastle, Windale, Gateshead and Blacksmiths.

Six Rifles among the items Stolen from AppleTree Flat Home

A number of firearms and ammunition have been stolen from a home in Appletree Flat.

Police say that between Thursday 31st August and Monday 2nd October, someone/s forced entry into a home on Appletree Flat Road and broke into a safe stealing 15 firearms and 200 rounds of ammunition.

Among the firearms stolen are nine shotguns and six rifles.

Officers from Hunter Valley Local Area Command were notified and launched an investigation.

Fears Held For Missing Waratah Woman

Police have concerns for the welfare of a Waratah woman who hasn't been seen in more than three weeks.

40-year-old Natalie Victorsen was last seen by her mother on Tuesday 5 September in Mayfield.

Police and Natalie's family are especially concerned because she suffers from a medical condition.

She is known to visit the Jesmond, Shortland and Waratah areas.

Natalie is described as being Caucasian with a fair complexion, brown hair and brown eyes and between 165 and 170 centimetres tall.

Family Concerned for Welfare of Missing Muswellbrook Man

Police are looking for any information from the public to help locate a man who has been missing from Muswellbrook since earlier this month.

Frank Beckingham was last seen in the early hours of Friday 15 September.

The 48-year-old's disappearance was reported to local police the following day.

His family have concerns for his welfare, as it's understood his disappearance is out of character.

Frank Beckingham is being described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall with a slim build and shaved head. He has blue eyes, a goatee and a moustache with several tattoos.

The last time anyone saw him he was wearing navy blue track-pants and a brown jumper.

Shocking road rage caught on camera at Sandgate

Police are finalising their investigations into a shocking act of road rage in Sandgate over the weekend.

A P-plater driving a 4-wheel-drive in the right-hand lane of Maitland Road was rammed by a Toyota Landcruiser on Saturday.

The footage shows the Landcruiser then speeding away leaving the other driver to pull over on the side of the road.

Man Tries To Snatch Young Girl From Muswellbrook Street

Hunter Valley Police are searching for a man who tried to snatch a young girl from a Muswellbrook street.

The 10-year-old was walking along Bligh Street near Cook Street just after 4.30 yesterday afternoon when a man driving a Grey Ford Falcon sedan pulled up behind her.

The man grabbed her from behind and tried to drag her into the car but she attempted to scream and punched and kicked the man, breaking free and running home to raise the alarm.


He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, 196cm tall, aged between 20 and 30 with a slim build, brown eyes and had a black and brown short “goatee” beard.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded top and dark coloured pants.

The car is described as possibly being a light grey BA model (2002 to 2005) Ford Falcon sedan with a dent on the side at the rear of the car.

Police Search For Creep Who Exposed Himself To Young Girl At Cardiff

Police are searching for a man who exposed himself and performed an indecent act in front of a teenage girl at Cardiff.

The 16-year-old girl was walking through bushland between Peach Avenue and Fifth Sreet at about 8.45am on Thursday when she was confronted by the man.

The girl immediately left the area and reported the incident as soon as she got to school.

The man's described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid 40s with a medium build and brown hair.

He was last seen wearing an orange long-sleeve high-visibility shirt and dark blue pants.

Missing Persons Week: renewed calls to find Zac Barnes

Missing Persons Week has kicked off in NSW and the case of missing Thornton man Zac Barnes is a key part of the campaign.

NSW Police are renewing calls for any information on the now 19-year-old who disappeared into bushland at the intersection of Tripp Close and Haussman Drive on Sunday 13th November last year.

Police believe he may have also attended a house nearby in the area.

Zac's mother Karen has told NBN she's losing hope of ever seeing her son again.

"We never thought that he was never coming home but as we get to nine months it's like he's possibly never coming home."

Zac is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 190cmtall, with short brown hair, a receding hairline and of a large build. He was last seen wearing a faded tie-dye blue singlet, dark blue board shorts and work boots.

Missing Persons Week is an annual campaign which will this year run until next Saturday (5 August 2017) and the theme for this year is 'Still waiting for you to come'

The families of missing persons still waiting for their loved ones to come home being used in this weeks campaign include 21-year-old Sevak Simonian from Belrose on Sydney's Northern Beaches, 15-year-old Stephen Turvey from Macquarie Fields and 52-year-old Kathleen Lidden from Bowral.

The campaign aims to highlight the high number of people reporting missing to police each year and the impact on family and friends following the disappearance of a loved one.

Body found at Nobbys

Police are appealing for information after a body was discovered at Newcastle yesterday morning.

Emergency services were called to Nobbys Break wall at about 11:20am following reports of a concern for welfare.

Newcastle officers located the body of a Caucasian male at the scene.

At this stage police say there's nothing to suggest the man's death is suspicious, however, the body will be forensically examined and subject to a post-mortem to determine a cause of death.

Middle aged man exposes himself to teenager

Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly exposed himself to a teenage girl in Newcastle yesterday.

Officers were told at about 7:45am a 17-year-old girl was walking towards John Street in Tighes Hill when she noticed a new model grey Toyota Prado drive past her several times.

Not long after at a bus stop near the intersection of John and William Street, the girl noticed a man on the opposite side of the road.

The man allegedly exposed himself to her before walking towards Powell Street.

He is being described as between 45 and 50 years old, 180cm tall with a medium build and short dark hair and was last seen wearing dark pants, dark shoes and an orange high visibility vest.

Children left shaken after they were approached by a man in Georgetown

Investigations are continuing into three children who were approached by a man in Georgetown on Saturday.

At about 6:15pm two girls aged 16 and 14 and a 13-year-old boy were riding their bikes along Christo Road when they noticed a man walking.

The man stopped and spoke to the girls who kept riding, and then a short time later when one of the children stopped to tie their shoelace the man ran towards her.

She rode away and the man was last seen walking north along Cowper Street.

The man is described as being in his 20's, of Caucasian appearance, approximately 180cm tall, clean shaven and was reported to have been wearing dark pants and a blue hooded jacket.

Attempted armed robbery at Greta

While a man heads to Singleton Local Court today for an alleged armed robbery in Muswellbrook, police are investigating another alleged armed robbery in Greta.

At about 8:30pm last night an unknown man entered a service station on High Street where, armed with a knife, he approached two employees and demanded money.

One of the employees approached the man and there was an altercation.

No one was injured and the man fled empty handed in a Holden utility.

A short time later the car was found abandoned on Water Street, Greta. Police searched the car finding a knife which is allegedly the same knife used during the incident. The knife and the car was seized and is undergoing forensic investigation.
