Woman Killed In Crash At Fennel Bay

A woman has died in a two car crash at Fennell Bay.

Emergency services were called to Main Road at Fennell Bay at about 1.00am today (Monday 23 June, 2025) to reports of a crash involving two cars.

Police say a 38-year-old woman driving a Suzuki hatch was overtaking an Alfa Romeo hatch when her car collided with the front of the Alfa while merging back into the lane.

Her car spun out of control, crashing through a fence and into a tree - the woman died at the scene.

The 37-year-old man driving the Alfa was not injured and was taken to the John Hunter Hospital for mandatory testing.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.

Anyone with dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Meanwhile, A 98-year-old man died after being hit by a utility at Awaba.

Police say the crash happened at about 7.00pm on Sunday at the intersection of Cessnock Road and Kilaben Street.

The driver, a 49-year-old man, was taken to the John Hunter Hospital for mandatory testing.

Investigations are continuing and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.

17-year-old Boy Killed in Crash Near Cessnock

Inquiries are underway into a single-vehicle crash near Cessnock overnight.

About 11.15pm on Thursday emergency services were called to a private road at Pelaw Main and found a Subaru Forrester had hit a barrier.

A 17-year-old youth suffered critical injuries after he was thrown from the front passenger seat and died at the scene.

The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken to John Hunter Hospital with minor injuries; he’s also undergone mandatory testing.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Motorcyclist Killed in Crash in the Hunter Valley

A motorcyclist has died following a crash in the Hunter Valley. 

About 7.15am on Monday, emergency services were called to the Old New England Highway at Liddell following reports a motorcycle had left the road and rolled down an embankment.

Upon arrival, the rider – believed to be a man aged in his 40s – was located deceased; he is yet to be formally identified.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District have established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Meanwhile,

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Putty Road at Howes Valley at around 10am. 

A 50-year-old man was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding left the road.

He suffered head and limb injuries and was transported to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

Man Dies After Crashing Motorcycle in Lake Macquarie

A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Lake Macquarie. 

About 2.35pm on Thursday emergency services were called to Caves Beach Road, Caves Beach, after reports a motorcycle had left the road and hit a fence after colliding with a turning vehicle.

The rider who is yet to be formally identified, believed to be an 18-year-old man, was treated by Ambulance paramedics, however he died at the scene.

The female driver of a Ford Territory wagon involved in the crash was taken to Belmont Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Police Distrct have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-cam footage or CCTV footage which might assist police with their investigation is asked to call Lake Macquarie Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Teenager Killed After Crashing into Tree Near Cessnock

A teenager has died in a single-vehicle crash at Mount View Road in the Hunter Valley, yesterday.

About 8pm on Wednesday, emergency services were called to Mount View Road, Mount View, following reports a Ford Falcon had left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The male driver – and sole occupant of the vehicle – suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. 

He is yet to be formally identified, however is believed to be an 18-year-old.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
