Teenager Killed After Crashing into Tree Near Cessnock

A teenager has died in a single-vehicle crash at Mount View Road in the Hunter Valley, yesterday.

About 8pm on Wednesday, emergency services were called to Mount View Road, Mount View, following reports a Ford Falcon had left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The male driver – and sole occupant of the vehicle – suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. 

He is yet to be formally identified, however is believed to be an 18-year-old.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Woman Driver Blows Four Times Legal Limit, Following King Street Crash

A woman will face court later in August, recording a blood alcohol reading of four times the legal limit, following a collision on King Street, Newcastle. 

Around 10.20pm on Sunday night, two vehicles collided near the intersection of King street and Union Street. 

Both drivers were submitted to a breath analysis, with a 28-year-old woman recording a reading of 0.232, more than four times the legal limit. 

Her licence was immediately suspended. 

She is due to appear in Newcastle Local Court later in August.

Person Trapped in Car Following Crash at Morisset

One person has been trapped in their vehicle following a car crash at Morisset on Friday morning.

Its believed a 17-year-old boy crashed into a fence on Macquarie Street, near the Wharf Street turnoff.

Emergency services arrived at the scene just after 9.30am, to assist 3 patients.

One person has been transported to John Hunter Hospital with head injuries in a stable condition.

There has been no serious injuries reported.

Man Airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, Trapped in Vehicle Wreckage For 2 Hours in Seahampton Crash

A 56-year-old man has been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital following a two vehicle at Seahampton this morning.

Emergency services and the Hunter's Westpac Rescue Helicopter were called to crash near Seahampton Road on the Hunter expressway at 6.15am on Wednesday morning.

The man was trapped in the wreckage for over 2 hours, surprisingly sustaining only minor injuries.

He will be subject to further assessment and treatment at John Hunter Hospital.

All lanes on the Hunter Expressway have now been re-opened.

Elderly Man With Suspected Fractures To Both Arms and Legs After Crashing Into Tree At Lake Macquarie

An elderly man has been transported to John Hunter Hospital with suspected fractures to both arms and legs, after crashing into a tree in Lake Macquarie. 

Emergency services were called to Cessnock Rd, Ryhope, at around 7.40am on Thursday.

The man was reportedly found trapped inside his badly damaged vehicle, and was transported to John Hunter Hospital. 

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
