Police Believe Man Wanted in State's West Could Be In Newcastle Area

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man wanted in the state’s west, believed to frequent the Newcastle area.

37-year-old Paul Vautin, is wanted on an outstanding warrant related to domestic violence offences.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 175cm tall, with a large build and thinning red hair.

He also has a tattoo on the right side of his upper body.

Is it believed Mr Vautin may frequent the areas of Bathurst, Cowra and Newcastle.

Officers from Chifley Police District continue to conduct inquiries into his whereabouts and urge anyone who may have information to contact Bathurst Police Station on (02) 6332 8664 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Wanted Fugitive Arrested At Nelson Bay

Police have caught up with a man wanted over a wild pursuit through Carrington last week,

Thomas Bowles was wanted on an outstanding warrant for robbery offences when he was spotted on Wednesday.

It's alleged he reversed his car into an unmarked police vehicle at speed, causing major damage to the car and injuring a Senior Constable.

Officers started pursuing the car but the chase was called off for safety reasons.

Following extensive inquiries, the 22-year-old was arrested at a unit in Donald Street Nelson Bay yesterday.

He was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with a number of offences including;

• Police pursuit (x2)
• Drive conveyance without consent of owner
• Negligent driving
• Drive dangerously
• Drive while licence cancelled
• Destroy or damage property

Bowles was refused bail and will appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court today (Monday 9 April 2018).

Manhunt Continues For Wanted Fugitive In The Hunter

A manhunt is continuing after a high speed pursuit through Newcastle's inner suburbs.

Thomas Bowles is wanted over an outstanding warrant after his parole was revoked for robbery offences.

Police spotted the 22-year-old driving in Carrington yesterday (Wednesday) and began pursuing his vehicle, but the chase was called off for safety reasons.

Thomas Bowles is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 180 – 185cm tall with a medium build and fair complexion.

He is unshaven with brown eyes and short, brown hair.

The man is believed to frequent the Newcastle City, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens/Hunter and Hunter Valley areas.

Police have urged anyone with information about 22-year-old Thomas Bowles not to approach him but to contact police immediately on triple zero.
