UPDATE ! Truck Crash Closes One Lane Of Buckets Way At Limeburners Creek

 Police say the truck has now been towed from the scene and traffic is back to normal.

 Earlier:

 Traffic on the Buckets Ways at Limeburners Creek is down to one lane following a truck crash.

The crash has happened at about 5.45am on Monday, about one kilometre west of Fords Road.

Police say the truck, which is loaded with steel, was attempting a three-point-turn in wet conditions when the rig slipped backwards down an embankment.

The 36-year-old male driver from Newcastle wasn't injured.

Police say an extended operation will be required to unload the truck and drag it back up to the road.

A contra-flow traffic operation in under way.

Woman Seriously Injured In Crash At Limeburners Creek

A woman is fighting for life in the John Hunter Hospital after a bad crash at Limeburners Creek.

Police say the 51-year-old from Newcastle was heading north on the Bucketts Way at about 5.30pm on Wednesday when her Hyundai SUV left the road and travelled for 30 metres before rolling and slamming into a tree.

Passers-by pulled the woman unconscious from the car.

She was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital by the Hunter's Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a serious condition with multiple injuries.

Police say the woman may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

BREAKING! Emergency Services Called To Crash At Limeburners Creek

Emergency services have been called to a serious crash at Limeburners Creek.

The single vehicle crash happened on the Buckets Way about 5 kilometres from the Pacific Highway just before 5.30am on Thursday.

SES crews are working to free the driver, who is understood to have suffered a broken leg.
