UPDATE: Girl Missing from North Arm Cove Found Safe and Well

Tahkia Bradshaw has been found safe and well. 

EARLIER:

Port Stephens Police are appealing for help to find a girl who's gone missing from North Arm Cove.

Tahkia Bradshaw was last seen in Adamstown on Sunday the 4th of April. 

She's described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a fair completion, around 160 centimetres tall, 40 to 50 kilograms in weight, with blonde possibly streaked hair, and blue eyes. 

Anyone with information is urged to call Raymond Terrace Police. 

Police are advising those wishing to remain anonymous can do so. 

Molycop Considering Stopping Steel Production in Newcastle After 100 Years

One of Newcastle's oldest steel producers, Molycop could cease steel production in Newcastle, if Australia's Anti-Dumping Commission doesn't increase tariffs on Chinese steel imports.

The Molycop Group have been producing steel at their Waratah site for over 103 years since 1917. 

The Australian reports Molycop is instead considering importing the steel from China, if the tariffs aren't raised. 

The move could result in the loss of 300 jobs across the company. 

The national Anti-Dumping Commission is currently investigating the case put to it by Molycop, which calls for tariffs on its Chinese competitors to be raised and extended for another five years.

A decision in the case would require approval from Australia's new Industry, Innovation and Science Minister Christian Porter, in the coming months. 

The Anti-Dumping Commission will provide its recommendation to the Minister in a final report on the matter by July 2, 2021.

Man Charged With Assault Could Be On the Run in the Hunter After Breaking Parole

Hunter Police are appealing for members of the public to assist them in locating a man who has broken his parole, after being arrested for assault. 

Kalib Toko, aged 21, is described as being of Pacific Islander appearance and is described as being between 190cm to 195cm tall, with a medium build, brown hair and brown eyes. 

The 21-year-old is known to frequent Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Lake Macquarie, the Central Coast and Western Sydney.

Police urge anyone who sees Kalib or know of his whereabouts to not approach him but call Triple Zero immediately.

Teenager in Hospital After Suspected Hit and Run at Wallsend

Police remain at the scene of a suspected hit and run at Wallsend this morning.

About 5.45am on Thursday emergency services were called to Douglas Street after reports a motorcyclist had been knocked from his bike.

The rider – a man aged in his late teens – was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital; he is reportedly in a serious condition.

Officers have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for members of the public to keep a look out for a black SUV vehicle with significant damage to the front driver’s side of the vehicle.

Anyone who may have seen the vehicle or who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact police.

Man in Critical Condition After being Assaulted at East Maitland

A mans in a critical condition after being assaulted in Maitland overnight. 

About 10.40pm on Wednesday officers were called to Anne Street, East Maitland, after reports a man had been found lying in the middle of the road.

Upon arrival, police located the 51-year-old with serious injuries to his head, face and back.

He was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into how the man sustained his injuries.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious between 9pm and 10.40pm in the nearby area or that may have CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Maitland Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Have You Seen Sarah? Police Asking for Help to find Girl Missing from Newcastle

Police are asking for public assistance to help locate a 14-year-old girl missing from the Newcastle area. 

Sarah Le Claire-Minns, was last seen boarding a Newcastle train about 12:30pm on Friday March 26.

She is believed to be in the Wagga Wagga area, but is also known to frequent the Coffs Harbour area. Serious concerns are held for Sarah’s welfare. She is described as being 160-165cm tall, slight build, fair complexion, black shoulder length hair and hazel coloured eyes. She was last seen wearing a grey dress, caramel colour top and black & white joggers. Anyone who sees her is urged to contact Newcastle Police 49266599, 49290999 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Jack Newton Found Safe And Well After Being Reported Missing In Newcastle

Golfing great, Jack Newton has been found safe and well after being reported missing overnight in Newcastle.

The 71-year-old was last seen walking west on Wharf Road at about 5.30pm on Wednesday, and his family reported him missing when he couldn't be found.

There were concerns for his welfare as he suffers from Alzheimer's.

Police launched an immediate investigation and following inquiries, he was found safe and well on Darby Street at about 9.30pm.

Police have thanked the community and the media for their assistance.
