A man will face Newcastle Local Court today, charged for allegedly committing act of indecency at Bar Beach.
Police say between Thursday January 18 and yesterday (Monday January 22), a 12-year-old boy went to the beach on Memorial Drive in Newcastle on several occasions with a family member.
The boy allegedly witnessed a man commit two acts of indecency while using the public change rooms.
The 12-year-old then saw the same man on the beach on yesterday at about 1pm and reported the incidents to lifeguards.
Newcastle City LAC officers attended and arrested the 75-year-old man.
He was taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged with two counts of commit act of indecency with person under 16 years and refused bail.

Police still investigating after shots fired at Wallsend

Two men have been released pending further inquiries after shots were fired into a home unit in Newcastle on Friday night.
Police say just before 11pm on 1st September, members of the public contacted police after two gun shots were heard on Abbott Street at Wallsend.
Police attended and spoke to several residents and secured several items - they were also approached by one resident who showed them gun shot damage to the walls of his unit.
Several crime scenes were established but no firearms were located, and thankfully there were no reports of any injuries.
Two men, a 30-year-old and 33-year-old, were the two spoken to by police at Waratah Police Station but were released.
Investigators from Newcastle City LAC have appealed to the community for anyone with information about suspicious activity in the area to report it immediately.
