A woman is in a stable condition in hospital after being trampled by a horse in Muswellbrook.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Kayuga Road just before 7:30 last night following reports a woman had been trampled by a horse.
The 56-year-old woman suffered lower leg and head injuries.
The Hunter's Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Victoria Park next to Muswellbrook Hospital last night to transport the 56-year-old to the John Hunter Hospital.

Man tragically killed in head on crash

A notorious stretch of road in the Hunter has claimed another life.
A man tragically died in a head on collision on Putty Road, about 60km south west of Singleton yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Putty Road just before 1:50pm where initial inquiries suggest a Toyota Hilux utility and a Mitsubishi Triton utility crashed head on.
The driver of the Toyota, a 37-year-old man died at the scene.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 48-year-old man, and his female passenger were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene for minor injuries. The man was taken to Singleton Hospital and the woman to the John Hunter Hospital - both reportedly in stable conditions.
A crime scene has been established and inquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident. A report is also being prepared for the Coroner.
Meanwhile, a dirt bike rider has died over the weekend after he suffered a heart attack in bushland at Wallsend.
The man was riding with his son in bushland near the Newcastle Link Road yesterday afternoon when he came off his bike.

Investigations continue after fatal accident on Industrial Drive

Crash Investigation Unit officers have commenced an investigation into the circumstances which led to the tragic death of a woman in a two-car accident on Industrial Drive yesterday morning.
Just before 11:30am (Monday 24th July 2017), emergency services were called to the corner of Industrial Drive and Tourle Street Mayfield after reports a Holden Astra and a Ford Territory had collided.
The driver of the Holden, a 66-year-old man was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition and his passenger, a woman in her 60s from Medowie, died at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, a 31-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition. He underwent mandatory blood and urine testing.
Initial investigations suggest the Holden was turning right from Industrial Drive onto Tourle Street at about 11:30 yesterday morning when it was struck by the Ford.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
